I have a PR7 & understand why you binned the original tablet but the fact that you now have a Garmin & a phone would suggest you have a compromised setup that isn't really working. It's not much more expensive than the Garmin so have a look at the tablets from Thork Racing, they run the DMD2 OS which have a dedicated roadbook screen, you can also add a handlebar controller that can save you swiping on your phone. I'm in Lancashire if you fancy having a go with my setup.
@James_Rides7 күн бұрын
I did look at them and at the time I couldn’t justify the £1000+ for the dmd setup. But in hindsight I probably should have..

An important point about trials boots. The sole is flat, and rigid. Not so much rigid at the toe of the boot, but from the ball of the foot back. Which spreads the weight out from the peg.

I've not ridden one yet, but I feel like not being able to store energy in a flywheel and release it with a clutch is a step backwards. I'm going to Inch Perfect in the new year so will find out I guess

That part isn’t as strange as you think.. you can still load it up and dump the clutch as you would a regular bike 👍🏻👍🏻

An Aussie here, been watching this bike for sometime. What appeals to me, is it’s out of the square, it’s basic in many ways, lm a big believer in the KISS principle. In some countries I can understand the trepidation in purchasing one, service centre / dealer support. On the other hand there’s nothing unusual fitted to the bike. So repairs/ parts should not be issue one would think. By all accounts the reviews on this bike is positive. Glad your enjoying your purchase and at the end of the day if the bike makes smile regardless of bike that’s what it’s all about

So every "phone or tablet" I've tried to use on a bike is always so dim in sunlight that it's essentially useless. If someone made a "sunlight readable" phone or tablet I'd say that would be a great option (as long as its suitably vibration resistant). The PR7 was the only serious contender I considered with the 701e. The only reason I didn't get the AJP is that service would be a nightmare (closest is hours away).
@James_RidesАй бұрын
The DMD tablets and phones look the best option.. I just couldn’t handle to £1000+ price tag. Having gone and done the first service I’ll be doing my own from now on, they’re really really easy to do all that fun stuff on. Only the valves to worry about but i don’t mind that.

I want one. It’s good I can hear the noise in your video. I love an engine, but I would love to be able to roll this out of my garage and practice balance and not make my neighbors mad. I know trials bikes are not as loud as my MX bike, but the ability to have the noise of electric and my neighbors will probably be more ok with it.
@James_RidesАй бұрын
I actually like the noise!! But you’re right, it’s really discreet. It will open up loads of opportunities for practice!

I ride trails on dirt bike. Fairly decent. I want to get into trials and in my area for the used market I see mostly 300cc. Is a 300cc fine for entry level trials but not new to dirt bikes?
@James_RidesАй бұрын
Yeah absolutely. You can tame them down if they’re too powerful with low compression heads and slow action throttles. It wouldn’t put me off 👍🏻
