Beautiful. I'm listening on Christmas Eve. It is the most melancholy day of the year for me. I should have turned this off 30 minutes ago but, the music made me remember. Some have select memories, mine are complete and run the full range. It's hard to think about today when yesterday is on my heels.

George moved to my home town Jackson MS in the 1960's. We went to Jr high together, and played basketball and baseball teams together. At that time he had never played the piano. His family moved to Miami, and he took up piano. Knowing him, I would never thought he would be as talented as he was! He would come to Jackson several times for concerts. He would send free tickets to his friends in Jackson and invite us backstage. One time, I brought our basketball and baseball team pictures for him to see backstage. He said , I have those, too. He said that I was the best player on our baseball team. I was very sad to learn of his passing, but I am very happy to have known him years ago and that I was his friend. I have all of his CDs, and am still amazed of the beautlfull music that he created! God bless you, my friend.

I had all of his CDs. As a college kid his music got me through times when I was down or needed to relax.now in my 60s I still love his music and today with a whole different light. I love that we all have stories to share with his beautiful music at the center of it all.❤

I friend of mine had a small record store in Santa Barbara when Windham Hill Records was formed. She put on George Winston for shoppers to enjoy. By the time the album was finished playing, all of his records had been sold.

As an empath, I used to listen to his music as a young adult. Matched my depressed and melancholy mood. Now at 60 yo I thankfully passed that very low time in my life-now get to enjoy his music through a more contemplative and peacefully contented place.

my favourite person who currently lives miles away send me the link to this video. wow all the songs here are so good. very sentimental and soothing. plus, reading comments from other people's about their love ones brought me into tears while listening to the music in the background. 😢 ❤I wish one day, me and that person could listen to this song together, sipping matcha latte, talking and laughing while enjoying the view of autumn from our balcony. InshaAllah.

It's been a tradition of mine every first day of Autumn to bring this up on KZbin, listen to it, and read everyone's comments. A truly cathartic experience in and of itself.

You can feel George Winston‘s heart and soul in every note in every melody. I came across George Winston when I was living in Louisville, Kentucky, I had moved there to pursue a career in bodybuilding. And then I kept listening to him after I moved to the big island of Hawaii. His music touches my soul in places that nothing else can reach. I have so many good memories while listening to all his albums. I am just finding out like yesterday that he died last year. I thought he would live forever. But I know his music will. I hope you’re playing music in Heaven a George.

This was one of the albums my dad had on his cd rack. We were never close but I went through all his music and fell in love with this album. He passed unexpectedly and I have no idea how to even start thinking about what he meant in my life. But I do know that I will always have his music.

I very much agree. It reminds me of Faust, Mephisto and the like, which influenced Liszt greatly. But a haunting quality is still there, which really sets this piece apart.

In my early twenties I was introduced to George Winston. This particular album - Autumn was my favorite. Wow! I stumbled on this today while listening to the Piano Guys. This selection brings back so many memories. Finding a set of sounds that brought into my soul so much creativity and discovery. I’m captured in this moment as things I haven’t thought about in years flood my mind. I love how music can do that to us! I need this today. Sometimes we walk through valleys and at other times we are on a mountain. Today I needed to be reminded what music does to my deepest soul parts. Grateful! ❤

Words fail to describe the love and gratitude for George's music. I birthed 3 of my children to GW music ... my contractions were in tune with his rhythm ...Saw him several times at Royce Hall. Then decades later, my youngest one took me to see him at Pepperdine. After the show we met met with him, and I shared that I had given birth to this beautiful being in harmony with his music. It was a blissful moment of kindred spirits. RIP dear George, and thank you for sharing your gifts with us. So much love.💛✨
