Is it possible to level up hero & captains with only g1 troops?

Yes. Though it won’t happen as fast or as significant of a captain jump. Make sure you get to the part of triumphal challenge where you unlock mercenaries. Train a thousand or so of each G1. Then make sure you send them in “stacks”. Meaning make sure you send each type so you have multiple layers of attack. I have a Level Stacking video where you can check this out. Make sure you are researching the guardsmen so you can get to level G2. And keep working those up with the valor you earn. The higher levels you unlock, the more layers of troops you can send and also the stronger your army becomes. The stronger your army, the faster your hero & captains will level. And ALWAYS remember to use any bonuses if you have them. Good luck and come on back with any questions you have.

Each gem has its own bonus attached to it. The higher level you craft, the higher the bonus. Click on each gem to see what the bonus type is (ie army strength, guardsman health, march speed, etc) and what percentage increase you receive from having it equipped

Hi @bltito….have you been purchasing some of the Total Battle packages in the store? I have been told by other players that sort of as a way to “even out”, the game provides you fewer silver/gold rewards if you are spending real money. Let me know. If this isn’t the case, I’ll ask around and see what else may be the cause.

I just send the best troops I have. Mercs, monsters, Guardsman. The best and as many of each as I can. I think the best is to have a deep pool of guardsmen so you can kill them off instead of spending to revive them

great stacking there :) personally, i think doomsday is the second best event, just after rise of the ancient. Doomsday is great if you can get many attacks in. as you noticed, you got many layers of attacks in. this is great. it will be even more rewarding once you get some monster and mercs in there, and even more so when you rank up your guardsmen level to 5. doomsday gives you the most bang for the buck, meaning you get more valor and exp from doomsday than you do from lets say arachnee, due to the lesser layers of monsters that the epic has. the extra damage to your troops really doesn't matter since they are "doomed" to die anyways (pun intended). if you can, try to get the scrolls from the doomsday event. i think its the 5th reward. At least unlock the first reward, since that is always equaled to the TC reward (30 scrolls). i know it costs a lot of silver, specially since the rise of the ancient event is 2 days after and it can be hard and time consuming to build an army that fast, but there really aren't any shortcuts here (unless you wanna pay with real money though, which we don't want to do). but keep at it and get that G5. Guardsmen 5 and specialists 5 are really a game changer!

Ok I’ll put more effort into Doomsday next time. I still have a ways to go to get to level 5. I think I still need to upgrade my temple and a couple items in the academy still have many levels to go

Good thing I did a "test" runthrough. My master computer mic input was muted. I was talking this entire video and nothing was captured. LOL. Well As I mentioned multiple times in the video (but you cant hear), this was simply a playthrough of the daily quests while I had a few minutes. I wanted to test the live features so I can schedule Live Events in the future. And as I found out, I had an audio issue. meh....

Yes it is complicated. Most of the time I just send my troops to their slaughter. People were trolling me for not understanding the mechanics of the game, so I put this together to show the strategic way to attack to optimize. It is time consuming and honestly I have only done it when I make the videos. Appreciate you watching and leaving a comment. :)

I think most of the time, for regular monsters, it wouldn't matter much but like you said, when throwing your troops into the meatgrinder it is best to optimize the attack strategy. If they are going into the Netherworld, never to return then best to get the most out of them right? Great strategy guide 😃

Thank you for the sub! Very much appreciated. I’m learning also that the monster squads within the epics are stronger versus certain types of guardsman than others. I haven’t dug in deep enough to figure it out and match up appropriately to see how much of a difference it makes. I’ll have to do it in a future video. Thanks for the open discussion!

Arachne is a horrible event and I don't even waste my time with it because the VP is trash compared to Ancients. I only build stacks for the ancients because I'll take an Epic that starts with 4 stacks all the way down to 2 with a 60% bonus on VP and EXP all day and only prep for it

@@JackHammerJoe if you need to then go ahead but it's still a horrible event based on the stacks the epic has and the fact that it has mercs that have a boost strictly for the event is trash. I'm in a large clan that puts the Ancients as number one priority with a requirement of points based on Guardsmen level and a silver penalty paid for no participation

Yes we too prioritize the Ancients event with strategies of which troops to send based on level. It’s the best for acquiring clan chests. I believe each player that participates can open up to 15 chests for the clan.

Hi @itslowtide4690, thanks for watching and commenting. I got lucky and ended up finding a good clan. The game puts you in a default generated clan which really doesn't help you much at all. My recommendation is to do a clan search and find a large clan that is accepting new players. I have learned the most from reading clan chat and asking questions. My city was a mess. I recently demolished a bunch of buildings and changed them to barracks to develop a larger army. I have some other videos on how to raid crypts to maximize your explorations and also how to fight monsters. They may help you out if you are interested in watching. Good luck.

The game definitely moves along slow and makes you work for every inch. I noticed once I got to 1M might, growth seemed to become exponential. But it definitely was a process to get that first million (without spending real money).

@lexc8714 you collect the dragon coins from placing in events and clan chests. Until your clan becomes large, you will not be able to collect dragon coins without buying them.

For doomsday, may I know is it possible just to send out low level captains (to level them up) together with tier 1 guardsmen?

I would recommend this more with Arachne because you can take a high level captain and send 2 low level. The high number of troops you send (and you could use only level 1) will grow the small captains faster. I believe I did a video for Arachne where I sent low level captains with level 1’s and mercs. For Doomsday it seems to be harder to kill a high number of monsters with low level troops.

@@JackHammerJoe its actually better to hit Doomsday, it has less stacks of monsters to attack than Arachne. Hitting with a low level captain is better and do not revive regular troops only revive mercs. Do not use monsters on epics, dragon coins are not easy to get so you are wasting valuable troops that can not be replaced easily.
