How much would Keith Walwyn be worth in today's hugely inflated prices? Surely one of the greatest ever buys in the Football League costing £4,000 from Chesterfield Keith then went on to score a remarkable amount of goals for City over many season's and caused many defences including world class International's huge problems with his sheer strength and ability in the air and to win many challenges....some that controversially went against Keith including the 5th Round FA Cup replay against European Champions Liverpool at Anfield when in the second half and the sides level at 1-1 a rare York attack saw a ball played over the top to Keith Walwyn who was challenged by 2 Red's defender's and legendary Liverpool keeper Bruce Grobbelaar Keith won the ball as 'Brucie' raced out and the pair collided as the big City forward toe poked the ball into an empty net...the match referee was clearly happy that the goal was legitimate but his attention was taken by the linesman who for whatever reason had his flag up in the belief that Keith had fouled the Liverpool keeper....watch this clip as year's later the legendary Liverpool defence once and for say this goal was legitimate and should have stood... kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKPGfnRjlMxprc0si=bj1sYkVxEYD6gZ1T

I really can't believe this was 38 Year's ago it seems like yesterday I along with my brother my dad and a few mates were sat in the 'Pop' stand as we had done the previous year when City beat Arsenal then amazingly drew Liverpool at home again in the FA Cup 5th Rnd.

I used to watch this with my great grandmother. She was born in 1906 and loved to watch this show right until she passed away in 1998. It used to be in the Saturday evening slot at Svt 2 back home in Sweden during the 1980's. Back then, the show reminded us a bit of our own village and the small farms surrounding it. The show was'nt as violent back then, compared to these days.

Why did they shut down the turnstiles with 30 minutes to go when the ground was not full and thousands were locked out?

Same here mate. I always regarded this season as the start of our revival. FA cup semis and play off final. Just 5 seasons later we would be Champions of England! Staggering when you think about it.

Our most expensive player here was Keith Walwyn who cost the princely sum of £ 4,000 surely right up there as one of the greatest ever 'bargain buys' an all time legend with the City faithful Keith always gave 100% no matter what the match or score much loved and missed so much more. 🙏♥️

York put shit loads of hay down on the pitch to try and combat the frost... it worked and thank god. I remember this game crystal clear. Who could forget it!. I also recoded it from MOTD and had a copy on V2000 (i.e. not VHS or beta!) but my player broke, so thanks a million for posting this, great memories

The real tragedy of this video is seen in the commenters, who are sharply polarized between those who (rightly) decry the thuggery of the unions and those who (just as rightly) condemn the brutality of the police (and of course, the media, who always get it wrong). Instead of universal agreement that *_both_* sides are wrong, people are split into opposing camps, each insisting that their "side" is absolutely right. The result is that the fundamental principle - namely, that coercion in all its forms is absolutely wrong - is utterly lost in the unending controversy. The country is at war with itself, and it's happening everywhere, in every nation. And the root of it all is the universal belief that that the political state is the answer to every problem. Mark Knopfler was spot on when he wrote the song _Iron Hand_ memorializing the Battle of Orgreave, whose final line is, _"We haven't changed since ancient times."_
