This is an excellent new channel, with really interesting old cricket highlights, but...do you have the oppositions' innings as well in yr match uploads please, particularly from this game? It makes the overall picture a great deal more interesting for us viewing the matches. Especially for this match- I think it's fair to say that the main reason for that high attendance was the prospect of the crowd seeing Botham bat, and it's disappointing- if truth be told- to not get to see what the crowd were lucky enough to ie an entertaining 68 from Botham, during a sequence of century openings partnerships he had that season with Curtis. No offence, of course, is meant by this- it's still a very interesting new channel, and I know it's a very time-consuming job uploading these things, so hats off to all of you that do take this trouble btw :)

+del ribeiro Thank you for your comment. You are correct that Botham was the main draw that day attracting a crowd higher than the two Lancashire games played at Scarborough in that era. I believe I do have the Worcestershire innings. It is on a broken tape which I must fix. Yes, just finding the time. I aim to upload as much as I can from my collection of rotting VHS so hopefully soon.

lol I know all about the 'rotting VHS collection' problem mate, believe me. Thanks very much for that feedback- as I said, no offence whatsoever was meant by what I said. I do look forward to further fascinating cricket footage you have from that era, hopefully both teams' innings though LOL Do you have oppositions' innings for yr other uploads btw esp Warwickshire 84, maybe also Sussex 89? Actually, month after Worcs game, I moved up to Yorkshire to start uni (am actually from London), and have stayed there ever since! Pretty much the only place in the country where the love of cricket even comes anywhere near what it is in Australia, let alone Asia. Very, very disappointing how indifferent people are to the game in most of England- at least percentage-wise compared to even Australia. Channels like this are important I think...

+del ribeiro thanks - I think they are important. I don't have the Warwickshire innings as I would have started recording when I got home from school, infact I do remember running out tape and have to rewind and record over. that is why there is quite a large gap in the middle of the innings. I am still struggling with the Worcester innings. The tape keeps breaking even when turning it over slowly by hand. Will keep trying - just uploaded the '87 B&H final if you are interested. I actually went to the game - I must thank my brother for recording this.

+Eighties Yorkshire yeah, have seen it, but...I think you'll anticipate my next question...LOL Mind you, if you are able to upload the Northants innings, as much as anything my interest is of Jarvis' superb early bowling as the batting. Bailey was highly rated at that point, but I remember Jarvis badly exposing his technical shortcomings, planting his front foot so heavily before the ball was bowled that, as Ray Illingworth correctly observed, he was often missing the ball by feet, and looked a bit of an amateur against him (great talent though he was). Very impressed by the length of the Yorkshire innings in this, plus the beginning of the coverage, had forgotten about the brief loss of coverage that we had down south. Footage quality really excellent for vhs, 1987 at that :)

+Eighties Yorkshire In terms of Worcs innings footage, having any luck with that faulty tape? Will it help transferring the tape itself into another cassette case of a tape you don't particularly want any more? If yr able go into more detail about the prob-might not be poss.obv.- I might be able to suggest stuff, as I've managed to fix a number of my old tapes that snapped over the yrs.

Martin Tyler commentating Bon cricket is a little different. Interestingly Tyler went to school with Bob Willis.

By this stage Botham was little more than canon fodder as a bowler. Rather kindly still labelled as fast medium!!!

A year after this Botham starred in Australia in the World Cup. Took four wickets and scored a fifty against Australia.

Look at the crowd and hardly glory days for the team. Used to go all over during the season Scarborough, Hull, Bradford, Sheffield. Now it's mostly at rip off stone faced Headingly (yawn) I don't bother. Still they've got the 100 to cream a bit more off the top, I mean bottom.
