Another bean game Nicht die Bohn needs to be brought back, as it is out of print. Look on BGG about it. It is a trading game of sorts. It could fit in this line. Pretty much one offers a really bad card to get people to offer good cards. There are -1 multiplier cards that flip value of cards held to be positive or negative and the Nicht card that sets a card value to zero.

Hello ! Thanks for this, it's not a very known game but I like it much. But I think you're playing it harder than it is : during set up you pick one card, and then at the beginning of each round you pick up à new card. As I understand it, you always chose to play between 2 cards in hand. Either on the tableau with the other birds, either once per game in front of you as your favorite bird color. Anyway, good play ! 😉👍 11 is my best solo score so far, but I didn't play it much.

One of my favorites! I can attest, these are by far the worst markers I've ever gotten in a dry erase game. Kind of surprising, given that the markers in On Tour (also from BGT) are considerably better. I bought a box of markers and a large eraser to share communally among all the dry erase games in my collection.

I'm so sad they repacked lost cities there is no cardboard mat anymore. :/

I'm intrigued by the "stacking letters" thing. I just picked up a game called Outer Earth where you build up planets' industry infrastructure through a similar stacking mechanism. We'll have to compare notes.

I agreed with everything you said until the final thing you would change. Lost Cities has some slightly clunky scoring too. I think your plays on BGA have spoiled you! :-)

Love this video style! I thought those thumbs up would turn into thumbs down for the 3 things you would change segment. Completely agree with the set up being too much what the game offers, it's a good example of a game that's probably better played on BGA.

Circus Maximus piqued my interest at first as well, but then I realized I was hoping it was an easier-to-find Ave Caesar. That was shattered pretty quickly. Awful Green Things seemed interesting, but a little long for a silly Steven Jackson game, no? Um Reifenbreite almost got me, but again, seems long for what it is. Still it is the game I'd be most likely to try - unless you want to square off in a Zoom Boggle session!

This is 7 years before I entered this world, and my suspicions are confirmed: gaming options back then were solely mass market games based on random luck, or hardcore wargames that feel more like a full-time job to play. :)
