25:01 Sorry, I don't want to be picky, but there's a typo in Lucy Liu's name. You've put LUI instead of LIU. By the way, I'm going to watch the Liu's movie, I didn't know the movie and it looks really good. 😘👍🤘 (Free Luigi)

No wonder the average americain cannot tell where France or Ukraine is on a map.

Of course I saw it when it came out. It was a must see for a fan of Michael Crichton, Sci-Fi, Susan Day, Albert Finney, and anything that tries something different. It's goofy and wild and prescient, and completely bonkers. The concepts far outweigh the stumbles in execution. Crichton is one of my favorite authors, but ironically my favorite novel of his is Airframe even though I'm a massive scifi fan. Speaking of his movies and digital effects, Westworld features the first 2D digital visual effect (Robot vision), and Futureworld features the first 3D digital effect (the hand model). Of course the very first computer effect was the opening of Vertigo in 1958.

15:03 In fact, a stunt actor died during the filming of one of the action scenes in the movie. I think it was during the parachute landing scene in the river and I think that scene is in the footage released to the public. 18:01 Thomas Ian Grifith (Karate Kid III 1989, Excessive Force 1993, John Carpenter's Vampires 1998, etc...) an action actor who should be selected for the next Action Bowl on his own merits. 23:07 It's absolutely fair. Good job, Mike. 👍

Tony is the worst character by far in this movie and when it gets to where he’s older I really felt like the plot happened for the sake of the plot and it really just dragged ass for me in that part. From him just being schizo yelling at kids for watching tv to hyper fixating on the fact he’s in Kansas like it was some big achievement. Though it was funny when the guy in the background said “KANSAS?! I’ve got alimony to pay!” But I really just did not like any parts with Tony.

I've always liked the Dick Lester's Three Musketeers. Starring Faye Dunaway, Raquel Welch, Geraldine Chaplin, Michael York, Oliver Reed, Richard Chamberlain, Christopher Lee, Spike Mulligan, and Charlton Heston as the bad guy. If you've never seen it you guys might like the British series Horatio Hornblower. It's truly worth the watch. Angela Lansbury was also the villain in The Manchurian Candidate. She also played a highly unlikable character in The World of Henry Orient. Another movie I really like. Based on a true story of a musician who never sought the limelight, however was thrust into it and discovered he had young female fans chasing him around. Directed by George Roy Hill and starring Peter Sellers, Angela Lansbury, and Tom Bosley. I would classify it as a coming of age film very similar to the 1999 film Dick. Dick the untold story of Watergate. Another film I really like is Start the Revolution Without Me. I love it for the duel roles Gene Wilder and Donald Sutherland played alone. That movie unfortunately was a flop. Gene Wilder said it was also released in the wrong decade. However it was filmed in France. There is a Waterloo (1970), and Barry Lyndon feel to it in terms of cinematography. It's a beautiful looking film. Billy Whitelaw plays Marie Antoinette. Narrated by Orson Welles. Lagging behind again? I'm sorry Philipe. I try my best to please you. How? You can't hunt, you can't ride, you can't shoot, you can't fence. What kind of marriage is this?!
@TonyandMikeWatchАй бұрын
The Three and Four Musketeers with Michael York are favorites. I just got the version that came out last year in France on Blu-ray. I'll let you know how that compares to previous versions, but I've heard really good things. When you look back at Angela Lansbury, she really did have an incredible career. From a princess in this, to Elvis' mom in Blue Hawaii, to Murder She Wrote. She could be the absent-minded mother, or the stern villain. She's beloved for a reason. Waterloo is a masterpiece of cinematography and directing with its giant epic battle recreation. If you enjoy period pieces, I would also recommend The Dualists (Ridley Scotts first feature), and I'm a sucker for Michael Mann's Last of the Mohicans (the theatrical cut of course), A Night to Remember (the first big budget Titanic film), Akira Kurasowa's Ran, and one of my all time favorites, The Lion in Winter. Thanks for watching, and commenting!
@nellgwennАй бұрын
@@TonyandMikeWatch I own Night to Remember. I also saw Last of the Mohicans in the theater when it came out. I did like it. The court Jester is the first time you hear the phrase Get it? Got it. Good. If you are interested in the Horatio Hornblower series it may still be up on KZbin for free. No expense was spared in the making of that series. I venture to guess it cost just as much as the series Rome. Another very entertaining fun movie to watch is Longitude. It's about how the question of correctly calculating Longitude came about. A clock maker from Greenwich, England finally figured it out. And it does have some funny comic moments.

This film is a work of art of emotions, representing the theme of bullying that has always existed in our lives. And that was only well portrayed in this film, a classic that in Brazil received the title of "te pego la fora" which means (I'll catch you outside) Man, when you heard a bully say that to you, it was the end. This work is a milestone in the before and after this film because it represented a feeling of mine and of a generation that felt intimidated by school bullies at the time, and even today. It is a timeless film, the best of its kind.

I love The Bad News Bears. That's just how kids were in the 70's. Tanner wasn't racist...that's just how people were. They could say "racist" things but there wasn't the hate/dislike behind it that a racist would have.
