I got Ego equipment but I'd definitely take that GW stand on mower over any EGO offering to date. Let's see what Ego releases today however as Lowe's has been blowing those Ego zero turns out at $1999 right now, so they probably know something 😉

It's decently sleek. The craftsmanship and the little details are really solid. You can see the quality in every part of it. It's well - made and looks like it will last.

It'll be cool when we could charge devices like this without AC. Just DC to charge all the appliance batteries. Someday we'll see products that can do that.

I love the build. however, i do have some questions. My understanding of electricity is everytime you convert it from dc to ac and back to dc (solar(battery) to inverter to mower battery) you lose efficiency. Is there a way to skip the inverter for charging the mower batteries?

Thank you. I'm converting a gooseneck horse trailer to my prospecting/ living quarters. Looking into a solar system to power the inside of the trailer.

That's a great install, but it looks like you can expect some trailer leaks. Lap sealant always leaks. Use marine sealant instead. Also, aluminum next to steel is going to corrode. Use rubber washers and stainless bolts to minimize the damage. I hope the new trailer turns out better.

It would be a good idea to add a complete system shutdown switch on the outside of the trailer in case of an emergency. Maybe add the external shutdown switch inside the trailer tongue V metal frame. This way If there's ever a fire inside the trailer and the tow car is connected to the trailer, the disconnect is right there where you're disconnecting the trailer from the tow vehicle. Also add a fire extinguisher inside of both doors where it can be reached from outside after opening each door.

Not an Internet expert here, but an OG solar guy. I've been planning to upgrade my trailer for a year or so, to be used as a mobile power source as we build our straw bale cottage, and power the local farmers market. This is exactly the kind of setup I've been contemplating. Lately I've been thinking about making these for worksite trailers and food trucks. Really love your application. The e-go line of tools are fantastic! You did a great job of breaking the job down into digestible bites, and i really dig the editing! You're one clever dude! I did an EV conversion of a Rabbit 25 years ago. It was s little too far ahead of it's time. Even got a kick out of your nom du net ... Solar.pun.kit/solar.punk.it Cheers! And thanks!

In Australia 440watts bifacial n type panel cost AU$98, so in same roof area you could fit 5 panels = 2200 watts by spending AU $500

It's nice all of your yard tools are battery operated. Here in northern CA they passed laws against gasoline powered tools as of July 2024 but it's not enforced much as I still hear and smell those things. That DBS 1400 Pro is on sale at eBay for black Friday at $479.

So the greenworks battery last 3 times longer for double the price and better cut quality. Greenworks for the win! Now just need to get a larger deck.

It's important to point out that wiring the panels in series this way is in part because the EG4 inverter demands a minimum of 120VDC input. It'll accept up to 450VDC and this whole operating range is considerably higher than a lot of inverters on the market which is great because higher volts means getting away with thinner wires, though higher voltage brings its own dangers too, and demands a certain minimum number of panels to get above that threshold.

You know I'm binge watching your stuff when I say "watch out for the stump" 15ms before you do. Great content, thank you for sharing your journey. After 2 years of casually using electric to help people, I formalized my business (Ontario, Canada) last week... after listening to gas leaf blowers off in the distance for a month, while I silently did my outdoor work. The sooner we provide better options, the better!

Did you hook up those 3 solar panels in series ?? Curious because the inputs say 12v-60v but the manual say max of 75v. Those 3 panels should put it close to 75v in series.

This is a good video. The portable power units are a nice thing to have. Of course, there are a multitude of brands and one of the others may work better for you. As for your lawn business, investing in another EG4 battery may be a better option for the long term than relying on a portable power unit like the Dabbsson.

the aluminium was not showing heat because metals are reflective like mirrors in infra-red spectrum. That's why some people put a piece of tape on metal parts so they can see their true temperature. And also this is the reason the sticker was warm but the aluminium plate was not

Glad to see your still doing well man. When i bought my Cybertruck it came with the Tesla Powershare package. We had it installed prior to the hurricane hitting us in Tampa, so it was nice being able to run the house off the Cybertruck... was taking the truck to the local supercharger instead of running a gas generator to charge it back up, so it got a few cycles during our power outage... curious if this could be installed in your solar trailer and instead of having battery pack in the trailer, you could use the truck for your battery storage to charge stuff.... just a thought since it is so seamless with the transfer of power switching.

Aside from needing to bond neutral and ground together (just get a bonding plug and plug it into one of the normal outlets), a TT-30 to Nema 14-50 adapter won't work, it connects both hots to the same hot on the TT-30, since the TT-30 is 120v only. You need a TT-30 pigtail for your tesla EVSE so it can get 120v. The tesla 14-50 pigtail only connects in a 240v configuration, and the TT-30 to 14-50 adapter only presents 120v to the 14-50, not 240v.
