Speed and challenge runs just aren't impressive when they use a seed where they know where all the chests and good loot is hidden beforehand. Do the same in a blind seed.

I've gotten several comments about the conversation I was having at the start of the run regarding refresh rate, FPS and latency, so I'll explain it a bit here (also just want to vent about my main gripe with the game that's been pestering me for years.) Vanilla Terraria is really weird (in a bad way) with refresh rate. Visually, the game is much much smoother when playing at 60hz and 60FPS. Higher refresh rates introduce a lot of stuttering because vanilla Terraria can't visually display over 60FPS - it instead repeats frames (and the distribution isn't even, so running the game at a multiple of 60 like 120 isn't smooth either). You can actually see the stuttering in the recording at several points if you're observant (for example at 12:38 - 12:45). Most people don't seem to notice it in the recording so I've been willing to make this compromise, but it's very obvious to me when I watch the recording/play the game. Whether the game is fullscreen or not also makes a difference - when I run the game windowed the stuttering gets much worse. I used to change my monitor's refresh rate to 60hz (I have a 165hz monitor) every time I played the game, since it's the only refresh rate where the game is actually smooth. However, there's a ton of cursor latency when I play at 60hz - to the point where it's instantly very noticeable and feels like I'm dragging the cursor around with a piece of string, rather than moving the cursor directly. At 165hz, I have significantly less latency (even though the game, including the cursor, is still running at 60FPS), at the expense of visual stuttering. There is a mod on tModLoader called "High FPS Support" that solves all of these issues. It allows tModLoader to display over 60FPS and looks perfectly smooth on top of having no latency (or at least little enough that it's not perceivable for me). However, base tModLoader still has quite a few differences from vanilla Terraria, so runs must be done on vanilla.
