Temps? I did this to my old Yoga 2 Pro 13" (i7-4510u). On "performance" inside windows and undervolted it stays at 2.8-2.9GHz under full CPU load (a hair over 3.0GHz small single threaded loads) and goes down to 2.7GHz with both CPU and GPU under synthetic load. All while staying just under 80c flat on a table and just over 70c on a kick stand. The fan never goes 100% unless its on a soft surface that blocks the vents of course. I reapplied it twice over the years as it hardens then separates making it a very poor contact. SO, knowing that because it oxidizes I used a carefully cut out piece of foam that was a hair thicker than the die to place around it, giving it a good seal to prevent oxidation to the liquid metal.. temps are still the same after years 🥰 ANYWHO, I JUST finally upgraded my laptop to a Refurbished and Open Box Spectre 13 with a i5-1035G4 (4k OLED, 8GB, 256GB SSD) and quickly found there's enough thermal throttling to turn "fan always on" in UEFI. Eliminating the occasional performance stutter under normal use and very noticeable throttling during heavy use. Funny enough, battery life isn't much better than my 8+ year old laptop lol the screen sucks down tons of power and with the fan always on it not only needs power for the fans BUT also allows to turbo boost more often and doesn't throttle (reduce power) as much either. That's a heads up that you will need to reduce the performance profile with better cooling 😜

All that work just to replace the fan? Might as well part it out. It's already in pieces. guess I'm lucky with a Dell E6530 and it's modular fan. 2 screws, and a cable. I'm thinking a strong blower like a datavac from inside the housing would blow any dust through the vents without disassembly

I'm using Y510P since 2013 ( i7,8GB ram, 2GB Nvidia), yesterday I've hit temperature record, 110*. On Lenovo official website is written that,processor can hit only to 100* temp. My Lenovo is indestructible HAHAH

The whole PC didnt bootup after the reassembly. But i fixed it by switching both RAM-Sticks with each other. Thanks for the "Tutorial"

Big mistake, spread LM on BOTH the cpu die and the copper heat sink. Cant just cover one side because liquid metal sticks through surface tension. The Liquid metal here prob oozed out and ruined temps.

Can someone help me with just disconnecting the display completely so that it forces the laptop to boot to an external display either via hdmi or via the vga port. I have manually unplugged the larger fat connector that I found just by opening the back panel i.e. beside the fan area! Urgent help needed to reinstall Windows 10. @mylaptop If you're watching this please help. You have shot the video amazingly. Just that what part does what I don't know. Need basic knowledge to just unplug the display and get bios running on my external monitor.
