There are no trees suitable for ship building in the coast of southern Arabia...Even if there were it would require 100 acers of mature trees to build small ship capable of getting to North America. Honestly look at the types of small trees in the area, no one is building a ship out of them.
@redfightblue2 күн бұрын
You are correct. No one has ever built a ship there. Smaller fishing boats have been built with imported wood but never a large sailing vessel. I think Lehi was the sailor Herodotus mentioned in Book 4, Chapter 42, Section 2. The reason I believe this is because the geography of Africa given by Herodotus is identical to the geography in Alma 22:32. This means Lehi circumnavigated Africa and the BOM takes place in Africa, not America. This solves all the BOM problems like steel, horses, dark skin etc. Herodotus associates Asia with "Desolation" Herodotus mentions that Egypt is "Narrow". Herodotus describes the seas on either side of the Isthmus of Suez. Herodotus describes the "Distance" across the Isthmus of Suez. Herodotus reveals that Africa is "bounded by the sea" except where it connects to Asia. All of these things are mentioned in Alma 22:32 when describing the geography in the BOM. Read and compare Herodotus Book 4, Chapter 40, Section 2 to Book 4, Chapter 42, Section 1 with Alma 22:32. They both describe Africa. If I'm right, Lehi is the sailor Herodotus called a "Phoenician" that sailed for Pharaoh Necho II. We know Lehi spoke Egyptian and Necho II did a righteous thing when he killed Josiah according to the Bible (depending on your interpretation of Necho speaking words of God in 2 Chronicles 35:22).

The Egyptologist opinions against Joseph Smith were debunked due to false assumptions on translation. The Egyptologists and the anti-Mormons crowd have been comparing the facsimiles to the explanation and expecting correlation. You're supposed to compare the facsimiles (counterfeit) to the Book of Abraham to show contrast between God and Satan. Comparing the facsimiles to the Book of Abraham to show contrast between God and Satan is proper interpretation. Joseph Smith was right, the Egyptologists were wrong. LDS scripture stands up to scrutiny.

I love how Mormon's will "test" it geographical details but wont test their founder Joe Smith. I mean the the Bible lays out how to test a profit and Joe Smith fails incredibly. Yet Mormons will not accept the results that Smith was a fraudster and false profit. So Mormon's doing any testing is laughable at best. Look at the book of Abraham. When comparing the Joey Smith translation to what was actually writen of the papyrus its 1000000% shows Joey was a fraud. He made it up as he went. What does the Bible say should happen to false profits? well it happened to Joe smith. He was killed. So when former Mormons started a newspaper and published a paper that disagreed with Joey Smith, Joey ordered the location be burned down. Obviously that he would be exposed not only aa fraud, but a scumbag too. As a result of that the Mob killed Joey.

All this guy is doing is pointing out stuff that is known to be old and finding similar stuff in the "Mormon" text. For this, he is rediculed. Likewise, when stuff is found within Mormon text and perceived to be out-of-place or anachronistic, the laugh-light is lit once again. It's therefore useless, and a complete waste of time, to discuss evidence with non-believers. They wouldn't believe the Book of Mormon if they held golden plates in their own two hands. As for believers, they don't need to.

What was Lehi's name in the Bible?
@jesselenz54523 күн бұрын
It's obvious you don't know the Bible very well. Keep in mind that the first people mentioned in The Book of Mormon, Lehi and his family, left early in the reign of King Zedekiah. Zedekiah is mentioned various times throughout the Book of jeremiah, and Jeremiah also mentions various unnamed prophets in many places. Look at chapter 7 verse 25 (7:25), as well as 14:13, 25:4, 29:1 and many others. Just because a prophet is not mentioned by name in scripture does not mean he does not exist. Many such prophets are mentioned individually but not named. Look it up.

In fact, I asked only to know if anyone had the answer to my question. But I see that you lack this knowledge on this very important subject. This happens because you have not yet known the sealed part of Mormon that was recently revealed. I can explain more to you if you are interested.

25:52 “whoever designed it” is an INCREDIBLY powerful observation as well. This Rabbi is not only recognizing the proposed argument for Joseph actually being a prophet, but ALSO that it would argue Orson Pratt’s connection to God, as he was the one to further break up the chapters and verses. The allegory was set to be Jacob 5 with 77 verses by Orson Pratt in the 1879 edition of the Book of Mormon.
