Was in HF the other day. Apparently they have a “Quiet Noise Technology” one now. More expensive but supposedly it is quieter. I don’t think these little guys are too bad though. At least these have a belt drive motor. I’m assuming they do because they look like they are a direct competitor to Craftsman and Porter Cable which do have belt driven pumps.

Quick and detailed video. I don’t work with tools and putting the cutting blade was a bit interesting. You explained one very small detail (remove the top washer only) well done.

Absolutely amazing video; you have a new subscriber. One question I didn't get was which one is *potentially* more reliable? Obviously the Ultra Quiet has to have different guts, not sure if reed based or what? Any thoughts there?
@jimmysgarage9068

Thank you very much! So I still own the ultra quiet, but the professional 175 was a much better machine. I never had issues with either, but chose the ultra quiet to save the headaches from sound. I haven’t done a tear-down to assess which one is beefier, but would assume they’re pretty similar build quality.

Retired ASE technician/shop owner of 42 years here. I understand the purpose of your video,” If someone has a small compressor can they use a 1/2 air gun ?.” yes they can intermittently. If they want to, a couple suggestions. If possible swap out the 1/4 inch fittings and 1/4 inch coiled airline. replace them with 1/2 inch fittings and 1/2 inch smooth airline, no longer than 25 feet. That will not only increase the airflow but also the capacity of the compressor because it will have to charge the larger airline. Also add a pressure gauge at the air gun to see the working pressure. It will be harder to handle but more effective . I know that will increase the expense of using a half inch air gun on a small compressor, but it will improve it. Personally, with the advances in cordless tools, I would invest in a quality 20 V cordless half-inch impact gun with a spare battery and a charger. Newer cordless impact guns will outperform most air impact guns. and if you want to add a powered ratchet later you already have the spare battery and charger.

I had the same issue on my 2013 Silverado 5.3 and it did not improve after swapping out the switch and filter. Saw another video that recommended flushing out the passageway under the switch. Drained oil and removed the oil filter with a drain pan under the filter fitting. Flushed with brake cleaner followed up with shop air. Considerable amount of oil drained out. New switch and filter and obviously oil change with a NAPA filter. 40 psi on cold start and drops to around 30 psi warm idle. Maintains 40 psi at road speed. I believe there is not an oil pressure problem, only the switch is not getting full pressure due to partial clogged passageway to the switch. I’m at 85k miles and I’ve always changed oil at least every 5000 miles with Mobil 1.

Jimmy,great video, very informative. Just wondering, on your 42"roll cab. Does your roll cab have 2 -90* angle braces underneath the roll cab, between the wheels? The reason I ask, I bought 2- 42" roll cab recently. One had more and beefier bracing (4 total), and the other had fewer and flimsier bracing, only (2). Facing the roll cab, one had U shaped bracing at each set of wheels, along with 2- 90* angle bracing between the wheels. The other had only 2- 90* angle brace at the wheels, instead of the U shaped bracing. No bracing between the wheels.

They work great 👍 If you use them professionally. I would stay away because your wrist would feel the 6lbs strain every day not made for daily heavy use. But I do own one of these new Hercules 1/2 inch just remember to oil your guns cause the motor will burn 🔥 out!!! I had a couple of co workers burn through theses guns.

question help anyone .... i have a 13 gal compressor by stealth great by the way.. I have a 30 tank i want to add to it do you think the motor can handle it ? or too big i hate to let good big tank go
@jimmysgarage9068
@jimmysgarage9068 22 күн бұрын
It may be too much for the pump to handle. You’re basically tripling the amount of air needed to achieve tank pressure. It could work, but will take a long time to fill and recover. I’d advise getting a 10-12 gallon tank and give that a try. Hope that helps. 🇺🇸🤘
