He had his residence in Mongolia (Now Inner Mongolia - a Chinese colonized region of historic Mongolia) and stayed where he lived when Yuan re-treated from Beijing. His main army never ever fought the Ming's peasant army who just invaded empty Beijing palaces. You should know your Chinese history. The question is why the Chinese built the Great Wall for several thousand years? Because the Mongolians were killing and robbing and enslaving the Chinese for several thousand years, period! Tactical withdrawal to S Korea despite facing a weakened China, the United Nations force under USA were cowards who couldn't even defeat a N Korea with backing from a weak China. Withdrawal from Vietnam despite having overwhelming fire power, withdrawal from Iraq, and then Afghanistan. Even WW2, Americans came in after all the major fighting was finished. The only real war US won was against the British Colonial empire around 1776.

Yuan’s 800,000 mongol army lost to Ming’s Han Chinese army led by Xu Da one battle after another until it lost its capital at Beijing and ran back to the grassland where it came from. It even lost a big chunk of its original land and people to Han Chinese now China’s Inner-Mongolian province. These days the ethnic Mongolia Chinese kids there are learning Han’s Mandarin in school as their official language. Go cry a river.
