I'm not gonna lie, that one was funny to hear as a french person, it's like hearing someone saying yes to me in different way lol. ㅜㅓ and oui (yes in french) sound exactly the same. Só é difícil por causa das que tem o mesmo som, não tem como distinguir uma da outra ao ouvir, igual aquelas consoantes. Porém acho que só parece complicado, mas na prática deve ser fácil. Creio eu, vamos ver. 😊

🙂Originally, there was a difference between the two sounds, but now most Koreans do not pronounce them differently. So, you can pronounce them with the same pronunciation without distinguishing them. Rather, if you try to pronounce them separately, it will sound even weirder.

☺️안녕하세요. yes, technically 'ㅐ', 'ㅔ' are/were different. thesedays no one can distinguish those two vowels. even i pronounce them identically. so don't get too much stress from those two.

In Portuguese there are two types of E, E and É... And the new vogals sounds similar to them, from what I can differentiate, but in an unexpected way... Because I listen toㅐandㅔand hear É whileㅒand ㅖsounds like iE... However, ㅐㅒand ㅔㅖshould have been pairs like the rest of the vogals likeㅏㅑ... This is very confusing. Languages are unpredictable hahaha 😆

저 수업이랑 이 수업이랑 차이점이 뭐인 거 같으세요? 저 수업은 영어로 수업을 하고 저는 한국어로만 합니다. 영어로 수업을 하면 비슷한 지 다른 지를 명확히 설명할 수 있죠. 한국어로만 수업을 하면 이제 모음을 배우는 학생들한테 '비슷하다', '같다'라는 단어를 사용해봐야 이해하지 못합니다. 영어로 수업하면 영어를 할 수 있는 학생들만 수업을 들을 수 있고 한국어로 수업을 하면 영어를 모르는 대다수의 학생들도 다 수업을 들을 수 있습니다. 한국어를 배우는 외국인 학습자의 90% 이상은 비영어권 출신입니다. 이제 자음과 모음을 배우는 학생들에게 'ㅐ'와 'ㅔ'의 발음이 어떤 차이가 있는 지 명확하게 가르치는 건 큰 의미가 없습니다. 한국 사람들도 다 구분하여 발음하지 않기 때문입니다. 나중에 제 수업을 듣는 학생들이 자음과 모음을 다 배우고 1급 수업을 다 듣고 나면 그때 발음 수업을 따로 할 것이고 그때 앞 부분에서 그냥 같다고 넘어간 부분들이 사실은 이런 차이가 있다고 설명할 수 있어요. 물론 한국어만으로요. 그리고 그때 가면 제가 하는 한국어를 다 이해할 수 있으니 '비슷하다'와 '같다' 정도의 의미는 쉬울 테고요. 그럼 학생들은 그 차이를 알고 더 올바른 발음을 하려고 노력하겠죠. 제 수업은 그냥 즉흥적으로 하나씩 찍어 올리는 게 아닙니다. 앞부분 강의들에서는 큰 문제가 아니면 비슷한 것을 같다고 가르치는 경우가 종종 있을 수 있습니다. 하지만 제 강의들을 순서대로 다 들으면 그런 부분들이 결국 다 고쳐집니다. 이건 제가 그동안 대학에서 한국어를 가르치며 익힌 방식입니다. 절대적인 교수법이 존재한다고 생각하지 않습니다. 제 방식처럼 해도 되고 다른 방식으로 할 수도 있을 것입니다. 선택의 문제라고 생각합니다.

구별하는 게 외국인들한테는 큰 의미가 없기 때문입니다. 대학이나 대학원 국어/한국어 전공 수업이 아니라면 한국 사람도 구별하지 않는 걸 외국인한테 구별하라고 가르칠 필요가 전혀 없어요. 아래 내용을 참고하시면 됩니다. "현대 한국어에서는 'ㅐ'와 'ㅔ'의 발음을 거의 구별하지 않는데... ㅐ/ɛ/와 ㅔ/e/의 소릿값 차이는 영어의 /æ/(전설 근저모음, ㅐ로 표기)와 /e/(ㅔ로 표기)의 차이보다도 더 적다. 게다가 어중·어말에서는 'ㅐ'와 'ㅔ'의 발음 차이가 더욱 줄어든다. 그러니 이 시기부터 한국어에서는 ㅐ와 ㅔ의 구별이 모호해졌고, 두 모음이 그 중간 혀 높이의 발음인 /e̞/(전설 평순 중모음)로 통합되는 현상이 발생하기 시작했다. ㅐ와 ㅔ의 소릿값이 둘 다 /e̞/가 되면 이들이 포함된 이중모음인 ㅙ/wɛ/와 ㅞ/we/의 음가 차이도 사라져 /we̞/가 된다. 또한 ㅞ/we/와 동일하게 발음하는 것이 허용되는 ㅚ(원칙상 /ø/)도 이들과 같은 음가가 된다. 즉, 과거에는 10모음(ㅏ/ɐ/, ㅓ/ʌ̹/, ㅐ/ɛ/, ㅔ/e/, ㅣ/i/, ㅡ/ɯ/, ㅗ/o/, ㅜ/u/, ㅚ/ø/, ㅟ/y/)으로 이뤄졌던 한국어 모음 체계가 현대에는 7모음 체계(ㅏ/ɐ/, ㅓ/ʌ/, ㅔ/e̞/, ㅣ/i/, ㅡ/ɯ/, ㅗ/o̞/, ㅜ/u/)로 단순화되고 있다고 볼 수 있다.
