I've lived in VN going on 12 years. I've found anyone selling any VN soup for 50 cents (12,000 đồng) the average price is 80 cents street cart sellers 20,000 đồng) to $1.50 (shops 30-35,000 đồng) What he's eating (2 plates) is most likely $2.50). I've lived in various districts and that's the average price. Still very cheap for what you get but you won't find any hot food dish for 50 cents (even a street sandwich which cost on average .75-$1.00) anywhere in Saigon or outside of it

The soup is call wonton skin soup. The broth is make of pork bone and dry shrimp. ( 雲吞皮湯) It is a very comfort food for breakfast.

Bro, you have to consider the average income of a Vietnamese person. Everything seems cheap to you compared to the USA or Europe but it's appropriate for Vietnam. In addition, there are no rules nor strict regulation to start selling food in most South East Asian countries unlike the USA and Europe where strict hygienic rules and unbelievably high taxation make it impossible for most to set up a business.

These 2 have been living in Vietnam for years. They should know what's cheap comparative to other restaurants in Saigon. In actuality, Dim Sum is relatively cheap on a per-plate basis. But its when you get a bunch of plates that it starts to add up quick.

Amazing price hopefully it tastes good . Would recommend Kowloon Bing Sutt they have two locations in D5 they have the best Dim Sum in the city at a great price considering it is a nice restaurant with AC .The beef big rice noodles best I ever had good quality beef .
