Wow that is so cool you inadvertently fixed the issue with syncing the SQ-1 via midi. By making the O-Coast as the host and sending CV to the SQ-1 syncs it to a daw.

thank you for these videos. I hadn't a clue that this combination could be so versatile

how many more boxes are you going to hook up to the o-coast :)... I already bought this one (SQ-1)... this is a perfect marriage... I wish there was some patch bay or passive 3-4 channel attenuator. . that also runs nicely with o-coast

im trying to run my sq-1 with my Uno drum and NTS-1 Nu:tekt. is it possible to run it with both and Behringers TD3?

Man, it would be pretty easy to make a krell patch with the sequencer modulating those parameters too. Maybe I do need an SQ-1? It's just so small and useful, I'm not want something so portable and multifunctional.

it IS very useful AND very cheap: I wouldn't hesitate ;-) The other option is a Beatstep, but the Beatstep Pro is far more expensive while the Beatstep is limited in connections (1cv 1gate). On the other hand: SQ-1 has no memories, while Beatstep allows you to store & recall patterns. Good luck!

I agree with what you say, but wanted to add that the beatstep pro is very good value and still relatively inexpensive.

How is the 0-Coast connected to the computer? In other words, where does the 1/8" MIDI cable go? Thanks.

Either use a DIN MIDI output on your audio interface, or a dedicated USB-MIDI interface like the Roland UM-One.

I have a midiplus engine module who knows …

Why is it that the SQ-1 appears to run at double speed when synced to the MIDI clock via 0-coast? I've also noticed that the 0-coast clock appears to run at half speed when I try to sync it to my SQ-1. Is there some sort of inherent clock divisor in the SQ-1?

Yes they are options in the SQ-1's global settings.
