I ripped the cd to iso, then mounted the cd to a virtual CD drive, then used a nocd crack as well as dgvoodoo2 to simulate an old video card and finally the sims mouse wheel addon so I can use that in game.

When I used to do this challenge I would rotate each furniture item so I only owned the one I needed at a single time. So I'd nap and then sell the couch for a TV, then sell the TV for a grill, then sell the grill for shower, etc until I could afford to keep them all

Everything he does is inefficient. Sleeps for 5 hours while having full energy. Never cues up multiple actions, so the sim just stands around and starts complaining after every task. And spends the majority of the day doing nothing at 3x times speed. The worst part is when he alternates between normal speed and 3x every 5 seconds and every time my hopes get up he might actually take care of his needs. I love the commentary but this is rather torturous to watch

One thing this proves is the Sim's hardiness in the original game. I swear from my memory, Sims 1 Sims were goddamn fragile. I swear they died when slightly depressed or from the slightest spark of flame. But Brian Ambiguous is in a near constant state of sorrow and yet he perseveres.

He was doing that on purpose to make the vod longer, I believe. I love the stream chillness and the commentary, but I wasn't able to watch until the end, it was absolutely frustrating. The most absurd thing to me is that he would actively do nothing to improve the needs of the sim (just speed the game 3x) and then complain that the needs aren't met in time. Specially, constantly seeing the bladder of the sim being almost empty, and instead of actively clicking on the toilet, he would simply do nothing, or something absolutely unnecessary (like hiring a maid or spraying roaches), and then let the sim soil himself. ... And then after the sim soiled himself, instead of clicking on the shower, doing other random thing, and then complain that the mood of the sim is low. WTF? I think the real title of the video should be: "$0 Survival without barely commanding the Sim, except for completely arbitrary things". I think I will stick to the main channel, all Sims videos there are absolutely gold

We went from monochrome GB games to full color with fake 3D on a handheld as powerful as the SNES. And the GBA was only $99 at launch. Still felt way advanced.

Two items that would've helped this: chemistry set (blue potions boosts 3 moods to max) and firework launcher (grab and sell the firework in buy mode for 20$) Also, the genie is random, but tilted to have negative wishes. You cannot change this. Reason being, you can buy tons of lamps and spam positive wishes, so they set it to have more bad than good to prevent you scumming your way to success.

The strategy: I took the first job in the newspaper what was the politican. Thats lucky, becouse mostly about gathering friends. I sold the magic stuff and bought a phone, becouse it's randomly rings and you can get prize money. Went to downtown to the park and there is the solution. You can eat the other people burgers what they left on the table, also you can't get exhausted there and you can earn some fun and comfort in the swing and also you can spam the sink so you can get hygene. Strarted to make friends by 3x talked with someone and do the same with another sim so they don't get irritated by me. Afrer when I put up my mood went back to the lot and got some promotions. Gathered the basic requriements to keep my mood on level then abadoned the politican carrier for the x-treme with 11 friends and started to gain skill points, hired a maid and gardener plant some flowers to my door so the room meter was high when I went to work and from this point it was just a matter of time to build up a proper home. I stopped the promotions at the Racecar driver state that paid enough to cover my expenses, get married, made 3 children and a job for the woman all of them in maximum happiness and after that I said the mission is accomplished. It was a fun project :D Kept me busy for like 4 hours

She was the one with no husband and three kids. Loved that one. If anyone can recommend any great challenges like that I would appreciate it. I did love throwing a party ,deleting the doors and putting a jukebox pointing at a wall and a toilet in one room. The amount of "falling asleep standing" noise playing on repeat is just top notch quality humor. Do that sometime have as many people inside as possible but have a way to get food and actual confort. Beds are fun too the noise wakes em up but I found that the falling asleep standing was way more playful. The toilet and shower they try to shoo people out of the room if you add a 1 tile room with a door they will all be forced to go to that spot too. Yes I didn't have a better game to play.

You can also do something called dual booting, where you have 2 operating systems on the machine, and choose between them when you boot the computer. You can have as many operating systems as you want, and you don't have to deal with the loading times of computers from the 2000s.
