You just need to be an enterpreneur. That will never die. And the best thing is that enterpreneurship will force you to learn the latest trends instead of being locked up in employment.

What a powerful talk.. This is a very important talk for our generation when idleness prevail. I always believe their is a wide opportunity the problem is we have a generation who cannot think for there own, they are dependent on what they were taught even if it's not working. It's time for us to be thinkers and vast will be opportunities for success before us..

I also share some of this opinion. Its only through campus that I have realised my sense of direction in life. This is when I got to understand I can learn web dev and graphics design and understand and then apply. Campus is just okay but for me education wise, it hasn't been good.

Kenya is not a self sufficient country meaning they cannot produce and provide a modern or develop life for themselves wondering what is education in Kenya for? Actually it is to inform you about the very things you cannot manage create and fully understand.

The day you start seeing local investors investing on local innovations as opposed to apartments, land and lavish homes you can drop out in Kenya, otherwise just get at-least a college or bachelors as you gain other skills on the side eg. taking a professional course. Its not skill oriented but It humbles you to realize there are other smart people and you get to learn how to work with people from different backgrounds and you can survive in different environments across the globe.

Just a simple respond on the school matters, Guys Going to university isn’t a waste of time, but it’s important to make the most of it. The time spent can lead to valuable skills, personal growth, and better job opportunities. However, students need to stay engaged and use their time well to avoid feeling like it was wasted.

Whilst I agree that the university system is rigged ...I don't think a lot of time is wasted in uni ... Yes maybe 60% of graduands don't practice what they studied ...that's cause they weren't guided well but you also learn a lot more than you can imagine ... Uni prepares you to do stuff by yourself ...eg research , study , work with others and learn from them , scheduling your time , discipline like in exam... Integrity, public speaking , communication skills , presentation , professionalism, respect for senior players etc ... These are essential skills that you wouldn't get out of an online course ... The problem is we are a society that wants to make profit ... Life isn't just about profit and creating jobs ... It's about growth and development , learning and unlearning ... Etc Cause that's the inevitability of our fallen state ... Not everyone will climb the ladder ...many will be at the bottom and going to uni did not cause that... Ignorance and lack of exposure did ...

I have always been of the opinion that if the four years were compressed into 1 yrs at most i would be better than doing four yrs with one clas per week.
@calebnalo20684 ай бұрын
Just from purely common sense, how can a one class per-week course make you financially independent? And how do you compress med school, any engineering course into one year? That's just breeding quacks.

Joining for my 2nd degree in January. Yeah it's a total waste of time if you're thinking like a normie ,i.e. campus then job then wife and children then happily ever after. Never stop learning, go to campus if you can and don't forget: One man's meat is another's poison. Do what is good for you. We have plenty educated fools, uneducated wise men, rich fools and poor wise men. Do what thou wilt.

I think its highly inaccurate to say that "you waste time in campus". If you were to prescribe this philosophy to everyone, it still wouldn't work. Lets not forget campus is not just about studying. Alot of us made priceless connections in campus that we wouldn't otherwise have had. I'm cognizant of the fact that some courses are practically useless, but then you only have yourself to blame if you knowingly went and did a "useless" course. People like steve jobs, mark Zuckerberg, even elon musk and many other successful people who don't prescribe college to people ALL got successful because of it, either directly or indirectly. I think its just a fun catchphrase that alot of charlatans use to amass viewership. Campus is important, and if you can afford it, then you should enroll. If you get better option when you're in it, then you're free to leave. If you don't, then finish your studies and you'll stand a better chance to secure your future.

Higher Education is never in vain, skills are just the icing on the cake-comparable to building a house and later bringing in an interior designer and landscaper to enhance its beauty and comfort. While these professionals add value, it doesn’t mean the house wouldn’t be livable without them.
