You make me feel like I'm your best friend. I've been watching your videos for days and I can't stop watching. I just tried my hand at it and got some cells but my paint was old and chunky and my colors turned to mud. So I watched again and tried to listen better this time instead of being mesmerized by just watching. This was a lot of fun! Thank you for being a great teacher and so dang sweet!

Thank you so much Annemarie... they are absolutely gorgeous. I saw one lady do this dip without a tray and just spread the paint around on a plastic sheet or aluminum foil piece of paper and that worked. I am convinced that I must buy Amsterdam paints. I'm tired of the chepies that don't give any depth of color.

I understand that too. Even in this part of the country - it's difficult getting people to purchase art work. I think it has a lot to do with the economy, and people who have expendable income. What I might go with...if it was possible....are Themes. I live near the seashore, so what I would attempt is making things that can Depict Seashore ideas. Or flowers? Maybe add an additional 'comment' on the painting that would create The theme...as small 'quotes', etc.

Annemarie Thank you for experimenting - if all I learn is that it is OK to experiment with paint pouring I will be ahead. I guess I do not like failures (and I know you can only learn from doing and there could be failures along that journey) so I do not try, I just talk, and talk, think, and think some more but nothing gets done. When I talked to friends about acrylic pouring, they mentioned at school Marbling with acrylic for paper and in some ways it is similar. Thank you for sharing

Curious as to why the cells form on the canvas but not on the aluminum foil? Beautiful by the way.

Anne marie have you considered making a tray for the larger canvases by just turning up the edges of the foil to stop the paint spilling out? I love your work 😁
@annemarieridderhof

you don`t need a tray really...just press the canvas into the paint. ♥ Thank you Pat ♥ ♥Thank you for watching ♥

Thanks for your very generous tips in all the videos.......am wondering if the paints are slightly thicker with this technique than in the pouring technique?
@annemarieridderhof
@annemarieridderhof 7 жыл бұрын
Thank you... Yes the paint was slightly thicker but you can go thicker or thinner both work with dipping.

Could you use a heat gun ( usually used for embossing powder on cards) to bring up the cells? Instead of the torch.

Wonderful technique to get cells! Really lovely results! These paints seemed to be mixed a little thicker than a usual pouring consistency. (?) Do they even have any pm mixed in?
@annemarieridderhof
@annemarieridderhof 7 жыл бұрын
Kevin Martin yes I use PM.
@annemarieridderhof
@annemarieridderhof 7 жыл бұрын
This time it was thicker but a little thinner would also work just fine. I Always use PM because when adding water I like to replace the binder and PM is an acrylic binder.
