Cannot explain it any easier than that! you're far too kind to break it down for those who have trouble understanding it. There are no tricks, she showed you how. Paint manufacturer doesn't matter much, I've gotten cells with the cheap cheap paint all the way to expensive professional. do as she showed & you WILL have beautiful art pieces.

Annemarie, I just have to let you know I've been binge watching your videos for a couple weeks now. I can tell you that you get many more cells that other acrylic pouring artists I've watched. I have just collected my materials and poured a couple of cheap canvases. A little cell action, but not much. My new torch isn't anywhere near as powerful as yours is. I may take it back. I have such a desire to create some awesome art pieces, but I know it takes time to get good at something new. I am committed to getting this right. I want to thank you for that. I love your stories, and look forward to new videos. I'm so sorry to hear you are dealing with cancer treatment, but with your positive attitude, I think you'll get through it just fine, and you are inspiring so many people to not just give up with that kind of diagnosis. after you add your silicone, which should be your last stir... you pour everything in one cup...not all the colour at once but like this... white...blue...green...white...green...blue...white.... so not all the colour at once but in layers. Then pour on a tilted canvas. hold one side higher and pour your mix...then let it level 10 sec...then torch..swipe quickly....let me know. better make a video upload to KZbin and let me see.

Wow this is one of the best instructional videos I've seen yet on how (and why) you get cells, how thick the paint should be, that it should run and not be too thin, the ratios of medium/binder, water, floetrol... the usual mistakes people make... just great! i was wondering for those who dont get cells. what kind of water are they using? And do they have a water softener? i use tap water but i boil it first then let cool down and pour into a bottle to use. i get cells without silicone, but i get a lot more with silicone. Not thinning enough or to much is another problem I've seen. I even tried expensive Fiji water it has lots of minerals in it. I dont think it made anything look any different, but i will experiment with it more later.

I saw another youtube video by danny clark I believe and he said the less you stir after you put your silicone in, the bigger your cells will be, and the more you stir, the smaller the cells will be.....maybe you could experiement with that. I love how you explain everything so well.

Thank you Annemarie...need to hear you and see your videos EVERY DAY! So please don't ever stop. This video was excellent in its basic steps. Liquitex pouring medium is hard to find these days - more rare than gold! I use PVA glue and it tends to thicken very quickly....you have to keep thinning it while working with it. This then means you are really mixing in the silicone too ...you tell us to not mix it too much....solution: Liquitex PM! Love love love everything about you. You bring so much joy and inspiration.

By far this video answered all the mistakes I was doing, thank you so much for this video, you are a good teacher and patience person, I really love this video!, I have messed up about 10 canvas since I started pouring, been looking around for an explanation of why I wasn't getting many cells only rivers of paint and next day, the paint dries on the edges and the middle is still wet and cracked. I gesso them all again and they are ready for some fun.

Hi Annemarie. I'm one of those people who was having a problem getting cells and it was driving me crazy too. After watching this video, I very carefully did exactly what you did and voila! I finally am getting very pretty cells!! I was adding water to the paint before adding ppouring medium and wasn't using the floetrol stuff. I guess adding the pouring medium first makes a big difference. Also, (maybe most important?) I don't think I was getting the nice consistency....wasn't taking enough time to mix to the right amount of water into my paint. Thank you so much for your wonderful videos.

Great video Annemarie....showing it's all about the swiping and thinness of the layers of paint over each other so that the silicone can pull the particles through. I know that whenever I want to paint foam on an ocean wave, I have to get my titanium white layer nice and thin to swipe over my blues to get lacy foam, I never used silicone...but silicone is a new wonder product for me now to make crazy amounts of cells, I'm obsessed! When science and art meet, is one of my favourite spots ;)

I have been watching all your videos and my kids have seen some of them and love you too! During one of our art/craft times my rambunctious almost 5 year old says "I want to do a painting like that lady" (I promise I have shared your name with them) well we do not have PM or silicone. just cheap craft paint and glue. I told them we would try.... :) we poured just on paper plates and paper bowls. the girls were just amazed with their work. it was beautiful and magical to see. I took a few pictures. Hi Annie! I did yesterday my firsts paintings and sadly I didn't get cells!! So my first problem I guess was the old and cheap acrylic paint that I used (Blick is the brand). Second I tried to get the same consistency of the paint (like yogurt), but when I putted on the canvas it was like Teflon acting... Third I think I putted too much pouring media, water, floetrol and silicone in spray... I did 4 canvas and just 1 came out kind of ok, but no gorgeous like yours! Today I went to the art supply store and I purchased golden liquid acrylic and 2 more canvases. I have try again and watch this video over and over! golden you need the fluid acrylic...not the high flow acrylics....when you have it you put 25% paint...75% floetrol...and only silicone in the white....you will get cells!!...please let me know? ♥♥♥ Thank ♥ You ♥♥♥

I have moved on to Dimethicone 1000...the 1000 is the thickness but all silicones work...never had one that didn`t. ♥ Thank you ♥ ♥Thank you for watching ♥
