Love the commentary Dave, and the driving isn’t too bad either!

Once again great video and great race thruxton is really hard on engines and gearboxes. Would be great to see how you prepare the car before the race.

Thanks Richard. For sure bud. We have Silverstone this weekend so will record a few bits and see what happens. Not making any promises

That was an exhilarating race to watch so thanks again for bringing these to us Dave 👌😀. That car in front of you being 45 degrees to the track towards the start of the race on the fastest corner of the track has to give you brown trousers on where it's actually going to be when it has finished sliding! 💩 I know that putting tyre's on the car is far more important than your media setup, but having a 360 camera recording at the same time would've been epic for a race like this 😁. I'm gutted that I won't be able to make it to Silverstone this weekend seeing as that's our local big track to see you race in person. We are up in Louth tomorrow and hopefully selling Alana's Mini R53 on Sunday. Lastly, and I know I've gone on abit so apologies for that 😄. Do you if next year you'll be able to do these videos? I know with some organisers, they either won't allow in car recording for public consumption, or someone will already own all the rights to any media and forbid the posting of such material. I'm guessing one of these reasons is why stuff doesn't get posted from TCR (unless you're a certain Michael Crees recording footage from Boardleys laptop...) 😁 - Scott

Cheers Scott. Yeah moments like that is when sim racing helps a lot. Seat time in racing situations like that happen all the time and lot easier to practice and mistakes there than in real life. I don’t know about next year. Will depend on which package we end up on but never had any bother this year with posting stuff.

Been loving watching your races since I found you a month ago Dave, you're a driver for sure. Was watching the live stream for this round so obviously I can't wait for race 2 haha. Also how the heck was that pro alloys fn2 pulling away down the straight while you were right in his tow at Thruxton? It's mental

Cheers bud, thanks for the support. Yeah bit frustrating but that is what’s built engine looks like. Lot of money though which we simply can’t afford.

Fantastic video! I’ve watched all your content and really enjoy it. What rear axle alignment setup would you recommend for a more dynamic feel on the road? Currently, I have -1.3° rear camber (front: -1.8° camber and -1° total toe) and -1° total rear toe. While it’s good, it doesn’t quite deliver the responsiveness I’m aiming for, and I believe it could be improved.
@davemarshallracing3 ай бұрын
For road use is obviously very different from on track, on track we can use as much as 10 mm toe out per wheel on the rear but we have just set up a road spec fn2 and went for .5 mm toe in on the rear and 1mm toe out on the front. A set of white line anti roll bars are also a great addition

@@davemarshallracing thank you very much about the info!! Really appreciate it!! What about camber for the road?
@davemarshallracing3 ай бұрын
@@mikar636 the car we setup for road also does occasional track days so was running just over 3 degrees camber on the front and just under 3 on the rear. Can’t remember the exact number if I’m honest. Car felt great on the road and didn’t run tires off to bad on track. Bit of a compromise but always is when your trying to get a car too do both.
@mikar6363 ай бұрын
@@davemarshallracing Yes, indeed, 3 degrees is too much for road use. However, as you mentioned, if the car is frequently used for track days, adding camber is necessary. Thanks!!!🙏

@@davemarshallracing One last question ☺️: which is better, 17-inch or 18-inch wheels? Many say they prefer 17-inch due to tire cost, but purely from a performance standpoint, regardless of cost, which is better for both street and track? Thanks again!!

Haha very good. More like a rather rather rather disappointing finish. To be fair I know the race didn’t go to plan but looking back god I have fun in that race and put a show on and that’s what it is about. People reading this will understand next Thursday when the next video is posted

@@davemarshallracing WAS THE GEAR/CLUTCH ISSUE IN THIS RACE A BIT OF foreshadowing for race 2?
@davemarshallracing3 ай бұрын
@@bodinski100quite possibly. Seemed to slightly crunch a few times and also missed 5th didn’t help. When the gearbox went it was just in gear while going round a corner. Wasn’t Ona shift or anything. Makes for good viewing though.
