Once inside, it felt like a sanctuary where you could go to the second level, get a drink at the bar and sit and watch the apron and operations.

The image reminds me time, in a very future earth, the "Mourning Hall" would be the remanescent of the past, a monument, to the past that existed, time that passed, for the people, to remember what being human or what human world looked like before. For me, i find myselft thinking that the future is, actually scary, humans aren't made to stay humans, and that change will happen somewhere around the future, if everything goes too well. I wasn't like that, but eternity started to look more lonely, in some cases even suffering, as the time goes on, i can only imagine what world would be like in 50 years, 80 years, maybe nothing change, maybe humanity get extint, maybe we got to live in space, maybe we find a way of a incredible technology and goes far away in time of developing. In this future, that may be sad, people will remember this place, as a place where humanity looked like it was vivid and well.

Jay reguarly came here, about every other week. Right after the war, there still hadn't been time to mourn the catastrophe. Sure people took time to burry the dead. But understanding what happened in those 3, 4 months had been left to later. People were in a hurry to rebuild to find shelter and food and get back a sense of life. 5 years later, this place was built so people could never forget. Here, it was all quiet. The size of catatrophe imposed itself yet again. Here, he could cry to finally face his grief. Here, among the remembered, he could finally be at peace while both living and dead stay still. Peace, at least, for a while. How could they all heal once they go back out there?
