[007] I had to destroy this $10 FortLocks padlock to get into it...

I was impressed by this $10 / £10 FortLocks padlock. As far as I can tell, it's not possible to shim it, bypass it or decode it. The only way I could get into it was to take it apart (using a dremel). If you think I'm wrong, please do leave a comment below!
I forgot to mention in the video, I also tried pulling hard on the shackle while turning the dials or pushing hard on the combination set button, but neither of those worked.
Anyone like to send one to the LockPickingLawyer? Maybe he'll spot a vulnerability I couldn't find...

Try pushing down on the shackle whilst turning the dials. The dials should bind up one by one until they click into the gates. Also, if that doesnt work, try tensioning the reset switch instead. I wouldnt use that lock to secure anything valuable. It looks like its main body is made from cast alloy which will shatter when hit with a hammer.

I tried pushing and pulling on the shackle and tensioning the reset switch as well, and couldn't get any of them to work. I'm not going to claim to be an expert at this, so it may well be possible, but I tried pretty hard and couldn't get anywhere with it...

the mechanism itself looks a lot like what was inside the old 4 dial Squire C series padlocks (the ones with the button at the bottom). They were awkward to pick too but eventually someone figured it out. I will look out for the lock you have here. Im hoping B&Q might have the same lock but branded Masterlock so I can get one and figure it out. The only combo lock Ive not been able to pick so far is the Squire Warrior 65 C that I bought several months ago. ....also notable for the lock you have here is the way the outer codewheels line up with the 3 dimples on the internal wheels. That is the same as those small D-shape wordlocks. Those are tensioned through pulling on the shackle, but it takes an extroadinary ammount of force to get them to tension. What I do with those is use a chain to lock them to something solid, then pull on the lock body with a piece of rope wrapped around my wrist. Might be worth a try here.

If I accidently did not set the combination on one lock and the other opens once but not the 2nd time. How can I replace them?

Put in the current combination, slide the little switch all the way across to the right and enter a new combination. Slide the switch back and scramble the dials. It now has a new combination.

I can't recommend these. They last 6months to maybe a year, then get stiffer and stiffer until they are unusable.

i've had one for 2 years on a locker in a very humid, hot in summer, cold in winter paper mill and it works great
