I feel like early 360/PS3 era games had a really hard time with making people who looked like people and not half-melted wax monstrosities. I think devs were finding their footing with new graphics techniques while last gen developers could just slap a decent texture on a low poly model.

@@matissemoretti8451 It flopped, so? Something being good or bad doesn't really define by commercial success. The gameplay's good, the story is "bond", the gunplay is decent to good, the controls are smooth. All in all it's a great 3rd-person stealth-shooter, especially for 2008. And who knows, if it didn't flop and maybe came out a year earlier, so at the same time as the 1st uncharted, we might have ourselves a new Bond video game offspring every second year. Hell, i wouldn't complain about that.

One thing I always found interesting about this game was that the cutscenes are so much better than their PS3/360 counterparts. You can tell real effort went into the editing, shot composition and animations themselves to make them play out like an actual movie rather than a static and clunky FMV.

2 things. 1) the longer length was so welcomed. You have interesting insight, I wouldn't still be here if you didn't. I don't know about anyone else but the nostalgia hits you have are very similar to mine, and the way you examine games by bouncing back and forth between nostalgia and a more critical perspective is well paced and fun to follow. 2) Please do a Nightfire review. I had it on gamecube and it rocked my world. I haven't played it in like 12 years. Your silky smooth voice plus that game would be amazing.

A very insightful analysis of the Quantum of Solace games. Having two development teams (sort of) sharing assets does create two nice but different games. Gaming Exhibit I liked that there was 2 different versions of the same game. I would like to see modern game developers do something like that so each version would play to the individual consoles strengths, but no everything has to be the same because of Fear of Missing Out. The N64 and Ps1 were so different, you can tell just by playing the cross platform games and you can see loads of little and big differences, us gamers dont really have that anymore and I miss it.

I always wondered if an Uncharted-like game could really be doable on the system PS2. Uncharted's movement and exploration style was actually done quite faithfully on PS2 before Uncharted released via Tomb Raider: Anniversary (summer 2007 release). Clearly the shooting element was emulated by this game. Only thing this really needed was better actual mechanics. Quite a fantastic looking PS2 game, especially with the bells and whistles of emulation working in it's favor.

I played this game on the wii and it when you reached the boat you couldn't continue playing as you just spawned in some skybox with nothing around you.
