the best bond girl in TND would have been the one in Goldeneye. The story feels like they split up and then she married Carver. It would have been more impactful her death in the hotel room and also the main Bond girl in that movie is Michelle Yeoh, or at least after a fashion. It would have some continuity and really emotional stake for the viewers. BUt yeah, Monica Belluci is great in every movie and I applaud that finally Bond got with a woman older than him, not like the latest Roger Moor movies.

@@dr.pepperconnoisseur3661 I'm afraid not, I can't accept a Bond that falls in love and resigns twice in the space of 4 movies, Or one that's still tortured over a girl he met for a week 15 years ago, it's just not the Bond that Connery created and Moore continued, I'm of the opinion that Bond died the day Brosnan handed in his Walther PPK and LTK I take it he's your guy?

@@pr-tj5by Brosnan? ok!!?? The quitting is all part of who the character is. Goes against the M bootlickers. THIS is why M admires him and wishes he was there. To be the best you have to be unique. M followed protocol and sold his flat and put his stuff in storage when he went missing from a bullet of another agent from MI6. M knew he would be back.

Bond once again up to the task. As standards of form and style plus gender equality (the woman question) get upgraded and stricter Bond is not gonna fall short and lose his grip, looking out-dated. No! Bond delivers an absolute master piece here, in dialogue, cinematography, even acting even with its genre specific conventions and mannerism. .

The whole scene in Rome was so good, except for the car chase scene. But the atmosphere in this part of the movie was so mysterious and sinister. Lucia even looked more interesting than Madeleine. If only the film had followed this narrative line ...

Spectre is a mixed bag of a film. But the eerie, creepy atmosphere of the titular organization is fantastic. Blofeld's presence in this scene made my skin scrawl, if more of the movie had this thriller type vibe to it, it may have been much better.
@Kacpa2
@Kacpa2 3 жыл бұрын
Same, sadly it came really short later, from reveal onwards Blofeld was really badly handled, and they wasted Schulz's talent. He got a tiny bit better in No time to die, but the dialogue and general disposition of Blofeld is just really lame compared to how mysterious he was built up in the Rome scenes, they should've ditched 'author of all your pain' approach same as adoptive brother trope and kept him more mysterious and menacing, perhaps closer OHMSS Blofeld

We all have our favourite Bond. Sean Connery was a bit special and being the first set the standard. Roger Moore had that class about him and the underplayed humour. However, the way Ian Fleming wrote the part was with James Bond being a ruthless trained assassin and I think Daniel Craig just about nailed it.
@DrCrabfingers
@DrCrabfingers 2 жыл бұрын
Ian Fleming had in mind a privately schooled English gentleman, a diplomat that could kill if needed. His ideal actor for the role was David Niven. He was horrified when Connery was named, a body builder and model, too macho and lacking in the education of a diplomat....but he warmed to him during filming...(Dr No)...and eventually came to enjoy Connery's Bond. Literary Bond is never muscled but much more the quiet well educated connoisseur, multi linguist, and gentleman that has been given licence to assassinate when needed. Hollywood has moved Bond away from Fleming's creation to a muscled action hero that appeals to a mainly American modern stereotype.
