007 (or should that be Mickey Mouse) infiltrates the secret Rome meeting in SPECTRE (2015). The scene was filmed at Pinewood, production designer Dennis Gassner said: “When designing that scene, it was all about power; that was what we were looking for. The original location that we modelled our interior on was the Royal Palace of Caserta in Naples.”

Still one of the best villain intros of cinema. The tension and suspense plus the powerful sense of atmosphere just drips off of the screen. It's truly an impressive work of art both this scene and Silva's intro in Skyfall. I know this film gets a lot of crap but I think everyone can universally agree that this scene and a few others in the film (the Day of the Dead opening scene and some of the cinematography throughout the rest of the film) places Spectre on a high pedestal of visual direction.

This scene was a masterpiece, it gave us something different, a dark atmosphere, a room full of people dressed in suits debating in different languages, people who clearly seems that they have no heart by not reacting when someone is tortured and previously killed a few meters from them. You feel the tension at that moment when Blofeld speaks to James and turns to see him and everyone starts to turn to see him and clearly James looks scared, then he makes a very fast move by punching and throwing the guard from the balcony and desperately escaping through the window.

The shot of him yeeting himself out the window is kind of hilarious because of how quickly it escalates and how subverted the situation is. it really reminds me the spectre meeting in thunderball. and they really successfully modernized that scene. there is too many things that i love; 1) everyone having a conversation about drug business, human trafficing and assasinations with absolute chillness it was nothing but a daily route to them. 2) as soon as blofeld enters, the whole room shows him a respect that mixed with fear. 3) they mention their fallen assasin and show graditude for his service. 4) when the new assasin accept the job and give a speech about how he is loyal and no toleration for amateurism, blofeld understood that he is all barfing no biting, put him in a challenge to death and gave the job the guy who doesnt talk but show actions. which was a good demonstration about blofeld's character. for him your words, your life or your loyalty doesnt matter. what matter is your actions and your copetence 5) i knew we'll see blofeld's face since he is the villain, but im so glad we didnt see it from the very beginning. it was a good fan service to introduce him as a shadowy figure without showing his face, like his early appearances in the previous series
