Very interesting - you did not use any integration !

In 13:08 the second moment of area for a quarter circle is pi*r^4/12 right? Why did we use the one for a circle in this case? or that is just a mistake?

Sir could I know how u formulated that equation to find the centroid for the curved surface. Any links to articles which show the derivation would help

what about for circle and semi cricle? How to determine the xc and yc?

I'm still confuse about the h bar, the F1 use from centroid to water surface level but the F2 is from the surface level to the horizontal plane. can you explain?

i think for F2, the h bar is also use that from centroid to water surface level right ? which is 2m

why is there Fw? does the gate bear the weight of the Fw? i think not @7:30

Sir, why at 19:30 , you ignore the value of r ?(that one inside formula of X2)

Hi Kelvin. I replaced r with the value of 2

why is h2 is 2m??
@fauzansyauqi28153 жыл бұрын
because we only calculate the submerge part of the curve. the rectangle that submerge is 2m long from the surface level and not 2.5 since another 0.5m is located above the water surface.
