This is from the album "Steady As She Goes," published by the Smithsonian Institute. Recorded in 1977, re-released in 2006, I believe. Leads were Lou Killen, Jeff and Gerret Warner, and Fud Benson. Lou Killen was considered one of the world's finest singers of ballads in the British tradition. The Warners are authorities on American traditional music, particularly from Appalachia; Jeff is a full-time musician and Gerret is a film producer and director. Fud Benson is a traditional folk musician more widely known for his stone carving work; most famously, he created the JFK memorial at Arlington National Cemetery, the FDR memorial and the Vietnam memorial in Washington, DC.

Fairly certain the lead here is Jeff Warner. There's a small chance it's his brother Gerret; I've only heard Gerret sing once and his voice was lower and fuller. The style of leaning into the nasal sound so it sounds a tiny bit flat is Jeff's trademark, taken from the Appalachian singers he first studied.

Nice, but I think Lou Killen must be one of the backup singers, as the lead singer lacks the English accent.
