They put everything into that. People really forget what a groundbreaking and significant film it was for its time... most people don’t call it a favorite amongst their princess movies... but there’s a beautiful rawness to it... I can just imagine those animators sitting with the family pointing out to their mom “look there I am in the credits” but also biting their nails hoping it all works out.
@NightRainPanda2 жыл бұрын
I hate that they don't put credits at the beginning anymore, it was so much more beautiful because it introduced the movie and you got to see who was making what you were ABOUT to watch. Also you get a taste of the music before the movie too.
@mattybrunolucaszeneresalas90722 жыл бұрын
@@NightRainPanda they don’t? Hmm I guess…..they don’t. Really? I think they put “a BLANK productions” and maybe list some actors?
@NightRainPanda2 жыл бұрын
@@mattybrunolucaszeneresalas9072 And listing actors is rare. The fact is a lot of people will not stay to read the credits, so it's much better to at least put your big names at the start. Director, Producer, Chief animator, main voice actors, etc. Plus especially in the later versions of this style (In Disney where I specialize) they add beautiful artwork and themes into it. It kinda sucks you don't see a dedicated portion of a movie do that anymore.

@@NightRainPanda lol don’t even get me started.😂 it’s part pandering to the public part money money money must be funny in a rich man’s world. I COULD GO ON Many movies and series even ones that I like are missing something. Some heart and well something! Magic? Lol having themes that are modern and/or seem to imitate real life a lot more is fine but it easily gets tiresome. More “tradition” never hurt anyone. And after all, who’s to say it has to be _European_ traditional fairytales when we’ve got the whole world. But sadly the people at Disney were not even able to do that! Mulan 2020 and Raya and the last Dragon are unfortunate examples.😔

Haunting is a great way to put it. I feel that the Snow White story was the "one song" which Disney wanted to tell; while the other films were great Walt had already put together what he thought was the most soul-stirring effort.

If you read The Animated Man by Michael Barrier, it describes the first time Frank Churchill (the composer) sat Walt Disney down to play the fully arranged orchestral version of the Snow White overture. Disney was so overwhelmed with emotion that he just cried while the orchestra played. So many people in the industry thought he would fail in making a feature-length animated film, but I'm sure in that moment, he knew he was going to prove them all wrong.

Tore me apart to do that since I still miss it greatly, but I believe that Florida is still home and that another opportunity will come … and it may not be today, it may not be tomorrow, but it will be soon. I think it was the right choice because the lab I just started with … I can tell it is my home for now. In this season of life I have learned so much. I get to do the research I am passionate about & I get even more time living there than I was ever supposed to have through DCP. Now I get why all the opportunities before this didn’t work out - happened that way for a reason. This was the best thing for me just because the research was great, but it makes me ecstatic I get to go back “home” and maybe even build a future there. All the work I did to get this far finally paid off. Persistence is key. 🤍 Also I went back to see my DCP friends recently, the ones still working at WDW anyway. What a wonderful surprise to tell em I’ll be back in their neck of the woods soon. Also I saw the head mouse and I was able to hug him, so that trip’s timing was perfect. Best hugs in the game! I cried a little afterwards telling my mom how good it felt to tell him I’m coming home and that “I’m a scientist, Mickey!” I had never said that with so much conviction and it made me realize how far I’ve come in the 2 years since I saw him last.

While certainly not perfect by today's standards, this movie represents so much. Hard work and experimental techniques aside, this was a massive leap of faith for cinema as a whole. Disney has fallen from grace in multiple areas since then; here's hoping they can regain their footing soon; if not in time for the company's one-hundredth anniversary this coming October, then for this movie's own centenarian birthday in fifteen years.

Snow white is so motherly... And is the mother of mercy even as a child I wonder what happened after she got married to prince Florian and what about the dwarves? For me when her watchted her at the old age of 17 when I should have watched this masterpiece at those ages when I was ignorant and called it a flamboyant nonsense, Snow white ironically because the strongest role model other than my mother and sister, that if she was real I would have been an absolute devotee to serve such an angel(I wonder if this allusion is appropriate) in the form a child(or woman?), No definitely a woman, her funeral made me cry after years and bring down water down my nose, that having the thought of her funeral scene still makes me teary eyed, I am forever grateful to Princess Snow White for changing me away from my increasing morbid and dark emotions and rekindling the joy of a child(someone who would hug snow white when crying) and the dwarves too!...

The opening is so lovely and clear :) and the music is so beautiful :) I love how the old classic fairytales started with the opening of a book and the intro showing the castle and evil queen headed toward the mirror is just iconic :) I'm sorry at times I've judged snow white as not being the strongest princess and also a little annoying, even turning away from this beautiful classic because of it. So much heart and hard work was put into this film and without snow white, we wouldn't have the sweet, beautiful and slightly tougher or edgier female leads after her. Snow white carried on the imprint of kindness, beauty and determination and is strong in her own ways, always remaining good, positive, hard-working and faithful no matter what happens, and she has the right amount of love and firmness to take care of seven little dwarves :) the dwarves are amazing characters btw as well as the queen and little forest animals. The prince doesn't get much screen time but I do love how romantic he is as well as his beautiful voice :) This movie and it's music is also like a moving art piece and will forever have a place in classic film.

I think that they went for something very powerful and scary at the beginning as a bit of a warning for the audience. You might not be ready for that opening scene of the evil queen and the magic mirror if the music during this piece was too tame.

Interesting fact this was Walt Disney's first full-length animated movie and after the release of the film people wanted more and so other projects came such as Pinocchio Alice in Wonderland Robin Hood even The Sword in the Stone and other successful ones such as Cinderella and then a few years later The Little Mermaid and so forth
