Since I saw your video on this, I found a great deal and got one of these. Typically beyond my budget- but got lucky. Wouldn’t have chanced it without seeing your review. 👍

Hi, yes this is a great counter. Plus: great for mobile use also, very stable counter great if you have no GPSDO or other external ref. , many digits Downside: nonstandart formfactor . display has no backlight. but it is a great counter. 73 Tony PE1ONS

Hi Tony I just ordered this counter. From the comments I guess you have already sold your unit, but did you ever consider relocating the ExtRef port to the rear? I presume one issue might be keeping the coax lead as short as possible.

Hi Nick, yes it is a great counter, you will love it. the form factor is a little different and yes the external ref in the front.. i know other people that have or have had it and they all moved it to the back also.. just in parallel with the front and with a short coax, just as you say.

@@TonyAlbus Yeah I think I'll do the same. In the near future, I plan on getting a GPSDO and having it be my full-time reference.

Thanks for the review, I am considering this counter. Does it have a back light if the AC is plugged in and not running on battery?

Hi, there is no backlite. Do you live in EU? i am selling mine, i am not using it. but it is a great machine, one of the best i had, to use without external ref.. Of cource with is even better.

Hi, i do not have the device anymore, it was 3 years ago... i am not sure i did that test. but is has a 100 second gatetime setting.. so you prob can massure those low frequencies accurate. this is realy a very good counter for its price it is very stable also for mobile. without gpsdo it was still spot on.. anly the formfactor is weird.

Hello Jose, I think this is a very good frequency counter, it can keep up with the big brands that are more expensive. Its internal oscillator is very stable also over the years and the device can be calibrated by the butons in the front if needed after a few years, so no need to open it and loose warranty, it comes with 3 years if i am correct. And very important it also has an external ref. input.

Hello, how precise is it down to 32k or so? I'm running a clock at 8192 instructions per second with a 32.768kHz crystal and I would like to reduce time keeping error to 1ppm so I guess I need a few decimal digits...
@TonyAlbus
@TonyAlbus 3 жыл бұрын
Hello Max, in this price range it is one of the best for what you can get... if you want to be even more accurate you can also decide to connect it to a GPSDO... i also have a video on that... then you use the GPS atomic clock to make the frequency counter more accurate.. i'll try to make a picture for you when mesuering that frequency and post the link here in the comment.
