TA-0399: UNI-T UTS1015T and UTS3084T Spectrum Analyzer - Quick Hands On

Heb een 2 weken geleden ook de razend snelle 3000 series gekocht door dit review, omdat het verschil goed te zien was. Het verschil wat je toonde was zo groot, tussen beide apparaten, dat ik er niet eens over na hoefde te denken, ook niet over het prijsverschil. Ik ben begonnen met een "'aangepaste"' Siglent voor de VNA functie maar dat stelde te weinig voor. (zo laten Tony niet rommelen met de firmware heeft geen zin). Als je goed zoekt op Amazon vind je een verkoper die deze apparaten voor honderden euro,s minder dan de importeur verkoopt, het leuke was dat het verzendadres gewoon de Duitse importeur betrof.

Hallo Marcel, Bedankt voor het delen, wat leuk dat de review jou met de beslissing heeft geholpen. De stap om van de SA een VNA te maken, heb ik inderdaad ook niet gedaan en niet in de planning. Wel draaid ie full options en 3.2 GHz, verdr ga ik niet. Maar deze 3000 rend rondjes om de Siglent, de UNI-T 3000 is zo snel, echt heel fijn werken. bedankt voor de Amazon tip ook. Veel plezier!

Yes, and the UI is very friendly, i am sure as a Siglent user you have no problem operating it.Everything is where you expect it, in the menu. The UTS3084T is very very fast...when i win a big big lottery, that one is on my list.

Nice to see a difference in performance. Price is around 1300USD to 6900USD when I checked the other day. My question is, what does the more expensive unit do that the other doesn't? Operating range being assumed sufficient. If waiting for a result is acceptable, is the higher priced unit better in some way? I'm not involved in RF but find this stuff fascinating. If I had a business that used this equipment and needed accurate results, I could see paying $6900 provided that level of equipment was needed. For a repair hobby, I can see paying a couple thou for equipment that was needed. Otherwise, for curiosity, my TinySA Ultra will have to do. I use the signal generator also. I saw the breakdown of an SA theory on eevblog -- quite interesting. How often do people actually use this type of equipment other than design work? To test compliance of a radio?A Ham operator could use a VNA to check an antenna and cabling but probably not for an occasional check. Interesting stuff and the price is becoming affordable. There are rental shops in larger cities for occasional needs.

Hi Stevenm thansk for your comment. The 3000 has more scanpoint and markers i mentiona bout it in the start. the 3000 is super fast. Yes the TinySA is nice for most stuff in hobby

I am fasinated with these devices. However, I need to see some real world troubleshooting to be convinced to purchase a spectrum analyzer. 😎 Great video and thanks Tony. Also, there are the $210 2023 Upgraded TinySA Ultra Spectrum Analyzer, SeeSii 4.0 Inch 100kHz to 5.3GHz Handheld Tiny Frequency Analyzers. A comparison would be great.

IDK Uni-T made SA. I have purchased one of their handheld meters and a handheld thermal camera and I have been pleased with both. My Siglent SA does not have video out - but to be honest I have never used video out on the SA just the scope. I have used the computer interface. My impression is positive, however I wish you would have spoken of price and options.

Thanks Bill, yes UNI-T does more then just multimeters, i loved the PowerSupply too. The 1000 series compares nice to my Siglent, but the 3000 is super super fast. but 8.4 GHz is not what i need and the 7K is also outside the budget for most hobby use. Pity they need to go back, great to play with it.

Nice, but a bit pricey :( I'm in the need for a new SA, but do you know if they come with all options enabled (Licensed)? Ive sent them an email to ask.

Hi Stephen, all option on for the first 160 hours. the Advanced measure is usualy an option as EMI is.

Are Siglent building this for Uni-T? The UI and features are almost a direct clone. But there is no doubt the hardware on that 3000 series is a big step up. If Siglent are watching this, that zoom/full screen button in the bottom right hand corner of the screen is amazing. Can we have that feature too, please?

Hello!, besides that one, what other spec you see improved compared to the SSA3021X?. They look like a clone to me in all technical specifications but Siglent has little higher bandwidth.

@@miguelsanz836 if you compare UNI-T 1000 to the Siglent 3021X i like the Siglent better, if you put same Siglent Against the UNI-T 3000 , the UNI-T is much much better, but its price is also higher

I think they have borrowed the zoom/full screen button and other touchscreen features from the Keysight X series spectrum analyzers. There is a full review of the MXA N9020B on TheSignalPath youtube channel

Hi Tony, Amazing video, my respect. I bought UTS3021B, great analyzer, but the 3084T is the biggest! I have a problem... when I put in USB pen for firmware upgrade, the instrument doesn't see it. I also try with 3 USB devices but nothing. Could you help me? I think that USB ports are damaged....

Try 8GB or less and format it FAT32 , that is usualy the problem.

Yes indeed it is, teh 3000 is grazy fast, but for me the Siglent is enough too

I don't think you can change the impedance, the 75ohm setting is to be used when you have an external matching transformer. Can someone confirm?

yes i agree, But it looks all very promesing, with a few little software updates, better availability with firmware op de website, it is a brand to look out for. the 3000 just blow me away... so fast.
