Fantastic. I am glad we got to do it when we did. I dare say it may be sealed by the time we get another chance.

Brings back some great memories of our Kimberley trip 3 years ago. I too had issues with my 9" LED's & the ARB deluxe bar. Same cracking etc but not quite as severe as yours!! I think the problem was single bolts on the lights - too much weight on one point. My lights spent the rest of the trip in the back of the car. Have a great time.

I reckon you’re spot on mate. Glad to hear that it’s not only us! I’m tossing up how to fix it. Weld a plate over, perhaps? Any suggestions?

@@kenshi1231 I canned the real heavy 9" lights - one mounting point just created too much stress me thinks. I think that is why most newer LED's have 2 bolts for mounting to the bar. I did not have the largish holes as you do, rather spider cracks all around the holes. Those Kimberley corrugations were what did it !! I made up some 3mm steel plates and just sikaflexed them top & bottom on both sides. Painted them up and you would hardly know !!! I have gone to a 22" light bar on the top rail of the bullbar (mounted in front so as not to obscure vision etc) & in the existing holes I put 2 small rectangular 150mm? LEDs I had lying around in the shed. Still not as good as ARB Intensitys, but the setup works for me with a whole lot less weight. For what it was worth, I emailed ARB to see if this was a common occurrence with their Deluxe bar, but I did not even get the courtesy of a reply. Cheers.

Mistake No. 1 - Toyota. Mistake No. 2 - ARB. We had catastrophic failure of ARB roof rack, snapped off on the Nullarbor. Smashed our gear.

Ouch. Any recourse with ARB?

Where did you leave the van when you had the swags at Mitchell Falls??
@kenshi12313 жыл бұрын
Hi mate. We left the van at King Edward River for the night. We left early morning to maximize the time. 76km drive to get to the campground from King Edward.
