How many people did you see complete it with a single spare? I'm having a hell of a time trying to decide whether it's worth sticking a second one on the roof

I reckon most people probably had 2 spares, but there were a few with one. I think if we did it again we would try to take a second - we feel like we got lucky. Not sure how true this is, but I've heard it's easier to get replacement tyres in more remote areas if you run 265s, and harder to get the bigger ones. We had 285s though haha

How do you stick the patches to the roof?

We just got a roll of velcro with the sticky backing and cut of piece off to put on the back of the patch. It generally stayed on the roof - the odd one would fall off in corrugations though!
