I would strongly suggest that if you are going to take magnesium supplements to do so at night before you go to bed. I used to take all of my supplements in the morning and then I would be so tired during the day and I didn’t know why. Taking magnesium at night before bed was a game changer for me.

I've dealt with severe pain for decades. I was anorexic & after I began eating daily it took me over a year to realize I was eating the wrong foods. I'm still allergic to milk, beef and soy. Magnesium has helped my pain levels to go down a lot along with the diet changes. And helps my sleep a lot. I did have neurosurgery in March & it helped get rid of about 40% of my overall pain. But I had been malnourished big time. Eating correctly & taking supplements has changed my life drastically.

I began taking magnesium malate or glycinate a few years ago due to eating a ketogenic diet due to diabetes. As a wonderful side effect my migraines became far less, muscle pain decreases quite a lot, and my BP doesn't have as many swings. We found it helps my husband with pain, and stress issues he had. It also helps him sleep better. There are two vitamins that I notice reduce my muscle pain, magnesium and vitamin D. They make a big difference. Other vitamins do help, but magnesium I never want to be without again.
@gettingstuffdoneright53322 жыл бұрын
@radicallyforjesus Vitamin D very helpful to me as well in combination with magnesium. Slightly off topic but some new formulations of curcumin I'm finding very helpful relieving pain--for me it took a few months before I noticed it. I hope the good doctor can get around to covering the pros/cons of curcumin. I'm finding you gotta do "all the above" to make any noticeable/helpful difference, take care all

The form of magnesium is very important. The Magnesium Glycinate form is more readily absorbed and the side effects are minimal if they exist at all. It's more expensive, but really worth it! Read the supplement label and get the one without the other forms of magnesium. I no longer have migraines and no loose bowels (which I had with the cheaper magnesium oxide), and I sleep much better! That was really interesting. Thanks. Just looking on Cronometer it seems very easy to get up to the daily amount and at under a 1000 calories too. I took 15g of raw cacao because it's non dutched and therefore froths very effectively in a milk frother, especially using organic, unsweetened soya milk (250ml). Two medium slices of whole wheat bread and 200g of baked beans. Milled flax seeds 10g...the sprouted type are especially good. Then sweet potato and carrots 150g each and 150g each of broccoli and cabbage. That's 965 Kcal and approx 420mg of magnesium. Incidentally that also gives well over 100% of Phosphorous, iron, manganese and copper and nearly 100% of calcium, potassium, zinc and selenium, not to mention most of the daily vitamin requirements and a great omega 3 to omega 6 ratio. In the UK that's very inexpensive food especially at those small quantities

Unfortunately most commercially grown vegetables are lacking natural minerals due to the methods used to grow them. Soils are depleted of natural minerals and so farmers are using fertilisers to grow. As well hydroponics, where they use fertilisers and so the vegetables are lacking in many minerals usually found in organically production. Then there's the pesticides and other chemicals used to get picture perfect uniform products on the shelves. This is also the case with meats. Unless you're eating organic foods and non GMO it's a loosing battle....

I stumbled upon magnesium 2 yrs ago from another source. But today while I’m watching this, it’s great explanation and very true. I will not go without. Your body uses it 300 Times a second on the cellular level. It does just about everything. Much more than pain. Blood pressure, strong bones and teeth , it also makes the arteries in your heart and veins more elastic like they were when we were kids and young adults. So basically your chances of having heart disease lessons and it keeps your circulatory system in much better working condition by taking magnesium. Taking vitamin D3 not only helps with depression, pain and strong bones, it also is needed to be taken with all your other vitamins and supplements to be evenly distributed around your body. Recently came across this info, incase anyone else was not aware of this info on D3 and magnesium. So I will not take my vitamins and supplements without vitamin D3 at same time now

I’ve been dealing with pain for 10 years. Lack of proper medical care from the military and injuries after my discharge. Magnesium has helped me with my pain in lumbar area as well as both of knees. I upped my game with grounding sheets, and acupuncture beeds. My condition is also made more complicated as my gout is quite aggressive. So diet is a bit more complicated. Thank you for sharing this. I also take a grain of sea salt under my tongue with water.

Since I started using Magnesium (2x250mg daily) I no longer suffer from diabetic cramps. My heart disease (according to my cardiologist) also seems to be in check with my AFIB undetected 50% of the time vs. 100% of the time as it had been in the last 10-years.

Thank you for giving this valuable information I am also interested to know how magnesium can affect hypertension.
@DrAndreaFurlan3 жыл бұрын

@detectivewiggles3 жыл бұрын
Mag is the most important factor in hypertension. Mag deficiency makes excess minerals (mainly calcium) accumulate in soft tissue, which restricts blood flow between different areas and directly causes hypertension. Cholesterol is 100% meaningless. Hypertension and heart disease are all about mag deficiency.

I went through so many invasive treatments only to realize I had central sensitization that mainly affects my lower pelvis. Sometimes I find the best help for CS is reducing stress and increasing exercise even on days when I don’t want to. It has made a massive difference in tampering down abnormal signals from my brain. However, it’s nice to have a little bit of help either pharmaceutically or in the form of supplements so I’m always interested to see these things. I was taking magnesium for constipation but to be honest, Things have been better for me lately and maybe I can attribute that to magnesium

HAVE THE SAME THING!!! I've never met anyone who has something similar to me. I have to take Lyrica and Naltrexone. I notice exercise (finally I can move) has reduced my pain which was horrific for a year and half. I'm just finally enjoying lower pain but my athleticism has gone down by 90 percent. I use to be a skier, hiker and biker. I can't even sit yet or drive. Message me anytime. I'm Laura Stollorz Schroeder. I take B12, Vitamin D, Fish oil and Vitamin A. I'm trying to get my body back and gain weight but it's been a challenge. I'm trying to be more positive. I love Micheal Sealey for Hypnosis on KZbin. I would like to take Magnesium Malate.
@detectivewiggles3 жыл бұрын
In addition to magnesium, but a bunch of silicone scar gel and apply it all over your pelvis area 2x a day. It will restore the tissue, which has had excessive calcium and other minerals accumulate in it.

@@lauraschroeder8177 Hello I am Kally, My body has been in pain for Two years after dental appointment two years ago. I heard the drug from podcast about Natrexone. Does it work for you? and how much you take? and you also take Lyrica. So are these drugs have much of side effects ? Thank you Kally from Alberta
@nicolemarieb.70442 жыл бұрын
@@lauraschroeder8177 To be more specific, I developed interstitial cystitis from too many UTIs when I was young. Then I was given a nerve block which unfortunately irritated my pudendal nerve and then I end up with something horrible called pudendal neuralgia. Of course you can add pelvic floor dysfunction on top of that which generally develops when you have excessive nerve pain. I was a mountain biker before all this happened, and as you can imagine, with these conditions it can be excruciating to sit on a bike seat. Some people would tell me it’s even damaging, but I have found that with the right bike set up and slow return to my favorite activities, I can ride Pretty much pain-free now. I just have to use a special saddle and I’m good. It wasn’t easy at first, you’re always gonna have a bit more pain when trying to get back into activity when you’re this sensitive. I would consider myself 80% better. I have people contacting me all the time from support groups because they can’t believe I’m sitting on a bike and doing better from some thing supposedly so incurable. I tell them I use mind-body approaches but that it’s not an overnight fix. It’s a constant maintenance.

Thanks for your video. It gave me good information. Couples of months ago. I want to take magnesium L-threaonate for pain, anxiety, and sleep. So I asked my doctor to order my blood level of magnesium before I decide to take it. The result came back showed that my blood magnesium is within normal level. So I am now hesitated to take due to it may cause overdose. My doctor thinks it is OK to take but said I do not necessarily need it.

I had similar situation yrs ago but did research and learned physiological levels and therapeutic can be diff and My MD agreed also that there are limits to diagnostic tests. There are good studies on this. I’ve taken citrate then glycinate for many yrs and really find it helps with pain, sleep and anxiety. L-threaonate is good for brain function.
@victoriawhite36623 жыл бұрын
A gentle reminder that research has recently shown that “normal” levels are not optimal levels. “ normal levels” were developed many decades ago, usually in reference to preventing a particular disease/ deficiency that was common in the first half of the last century. Best of luck!✨
