That's fantastic. I'm really glad you're following the course. Enjoy!

How do we do this in Premiere Pro? Premiiere Pro doesn't have a "create solid" feature. I instead used "color matte" however, Mocha Pro in Premiere Pro doesn't have a "create track data" feature. Nearly every tutorial on the channel is for After Effects, and while Mocha Pro has the same interphase in both Ae and Pr, once you exit Mocha Pro, the way data is brought over to the host is much different between Ae and Pr. I would love to see more Premiere Pro tutorials 🥺

Thanks for the comment. yes, we have focused this series more on AE workflows but the final steps can vary depending on your host. In Premiere, there is no way to "import Premiere" tracking data for a 3rd party filter. Instead, we would recommend using the Insert module which is described in this video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g33LXqJsl9aspKc

Clearly this was made for those with some experience. Not a beginner coarse, or should I say, I have questions!

It's right to have questions at this stage. If you push forward with the course, then those should be answered. Otherwise, come visit us on the forums, we'll be happy to see you : forum.borisfx.com/

i dont have magnetic spline tools , what can i do?
@borisfxlearn3 ай бұрын
Mocha AE doesn't have the magnetic spline tool. But that's OK, you can just use the X-spline tool and make the shape manually. It make take a little bit of time, but it will get the job done. And you'll get faster the more you do it.

well,, but i keep waiting , how to export traking data from Mocha Pro standalone to after efects...
@borisfxlearn2 жыл бұрын
Hit the Export tracking data in Mocha Pro, choose the right type of data you want, eg Corner Pin vs Transform, and then copy that to the clipboard. Paste that data into AE with a simple Edit > Paste. You can find an older tutorial that goes through this here : kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIrbf2SdbtWdhck

After one year am still unable to use mocha pro in any any of my projects needs as i find it a bit complicated for a complete beginner in both after effects and mocha pro. Do you you guys offer a specific project training for it ?
@borisfxlearn3 жыл бұрын
You're on it. Keep watching this series and you'll be a Mocha Master in no time. (if you don't want to wait you can watch them all here now : borisfx.com/free-training/mocha-essentials/ ) Skip straight to Exercise 03 if you want to understand how the tracker works, then everything else makes more sense.

I've been trying to learn mocha for like 3 years now. Here I am still taking the first basic lessons. I literally punch the side of my head on a regular basis trying to learn the basics of VFX. I don't understand what's happening. I follow along and do EXACTLY what you do, and nothing ever works. My tracks don't work. My objects get moved all over the screen. I seriously don't understand. I've been doing the same shit for 3 years and have made zero progress.

You might want to join us on the forums, and you can show what sort of shot you're having problems with. Usually if your tracks don't work then you're tracking the wrong thing. Reflections or bright spots will throw the track off, so you must use track mattes for them (Ex 04b). Or you're trying to track the wrong type of data (Ex 03a-d). If you don't want to follow the whole course, take a few minutes to watch this explainer video : borisfx.com/videos/mocha-explainer-understanding-co-planar-and-the-surface/ It should help you understand if you're trying to track the right thing. But please join us on the forums : forum.borisfx.com/

As an advanced After Effects user, I found this tutorial surprisingly confusing and difficult to follow. You are skipping a LOT of steps for a beginner tutorial. This is more of a "look what we can do" rather than a "this is how you do it" video. Not very helpful, unfortunately.

Thanks for the feedback. It's important to hear this so we can improve in the future. We have an older intro video here : kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIrbf2SdbtWdhck The only caveat is this does use the old method of transferring the data back to the host, which still works but isn't the preferred method. Alternatively, if you stick with the course, it breaks down all these concepts into smaller bite-sized pieces.
