Hazelburn 10 - 2023 Release | Review

I wonder how much batch variation there can be on the Hazelburn 10 yo. I've only had one bottle of it (a 2020 bottling), and I recognize quite a few of your tasting notes. I'm pretty much on par with you with regards to replacing the bottle. I liked it, but there's just so much other interesting stuff out there too. If I find it on offer (well maybe not so probable for a Springbank whisky, but I'm not in a hurry...), I think I might very well buy another bottle, if nothing else then to check the batch variation thing and compare it to the 10 cl sample of the 2020 bottling that I've saved with exactly that purpose in mind. Yeah, there should be some variation, but I suppose the Hazelburn distillate will bring a lot of the same flavours, and if it was a bourbon back in 2020, then it could have even more similarities. I'll keep some of this aside for future reference too. Cheers :)

Rarer than hen's teeth that Hazelburn in my neck of the woods. As a fan of pretty much everything that comes out from Sprinbank, I wouldn't think twice if I saw one out in the wild. Imagine that for the price you paid for it, I am offered a 5yo Meikle Toir (not the Turbo, though...). Cheers!🥃

Yeah, at that price, you have to snatch at it. Hopefully they become a lot more accessible in your area. I haven't tried any of the Meikle Toir range yet, I am not the biggest fan of what I have heard about old Billy... Cheers.

Really need to get another one of these. Only had a 2018 bottle when I was early in my journey into malt. I'm not sure if my palate was evolved enough to appreciate it? Lots of people are finding these newer bottlings, especially the 2022s, to be much better than older ones. I am a huge fan of Springbank 10 that I also was not that into back when I was getting started in malt either. Cheers Stewart
