Thanks for making your videos, we need good beginner ones anyone can follow. A few comments here you might add to a followup video: 1) In general, turn off running osnaps with F3 until you need them. Users need to know how ton do that fast. Show F8 being typed for ortho toggle too. Your use of rotate and scale with reference is good, though you pick options with right clicks which is horrible for wrist health. I show people the ALIGN command instead as it lines things up by pairs of points in one step. thx

For PDF as XREF, I assign them a Layer, this allows a lot of control for display & content use. I use the PDF import feature in XREF, as this allows snapping to content within the PDF. I set my working Layer as Current. Then, I strike off the longest available line atop the xref. That is then used as a Rotation reference to align the PDF to the CAD orthographic. This is where I check for an annoying feature from scans and copies, that the perpendicular lines are, in fact 90° to my base ortho. With that in hand, I'll use the Rectangle command to create a box aligned to the largest known dimension in the XREF. That allows me to use the Scale command to .get the XREF matching my current Units, whatever those are. (I Model Space in 1:1, all scaling is by way of Paper Space, this prevents scale calculation errors from creeping in--that's my method, others' differ.) I use the Rectangle to verify that the Y scale is as "on" as the X scale just used. If they are out of sync, then the Stretch command is wanted, or changing the Y value in the XREF Properties box. Having that XREF "content snap" is very convenient for following the perpendicular grids by Snapping PLines to the intersections. Fit Curve can then be used to check fairing. Having used ACAD since 1983 does admit for knowing some effort savings methods.
