This is amazing!! I’ve been crocheting from patterns for a few years now and hadn’t had a problem until I started the pattern form the 90s. Honestly, I am used to crocheting in the round more than not so this was a fun new experience for me. I’m so excited for you next video!! When I started quarantine all I wanted to do was make masks and this kitty sofa but quickly put down the sofa pattern when I couldn’t get it right away. Thank you so much for putting out this series!! Can’t wait for put progress and final pics on Insta, I’ll be sure to tag you 🥰🙌🏻😻

in the instructions for row 4 to 8 ive noticed in the first section it says to finish on row 3 (the single crochet row ) but you then go on to say for row 9 but if you finished on row three in the first bit you would techniqualy be on row 10 next. so i found this a little confusing in the end i worked out not to finish on row three by were the tail was in your picture before starting row 9 so you actually finish on row 2 anless your counting thr foundation chain as a row. not sure if this was an error or im getting something wrong 😅. love the music to this video ❤

Is is written somewhere we can see how many stitches we should have at the end of each row? Sounds like that most are having the same issues and if we knew how many sts are on each row, it might stop the confusion...or at least lesson them. Also, It seems the video "glitches" in a couple important areas. Is this video available anywhere else so I can figure out the glitches? One last thing, is there a complete list of supplies needed for this project somewhere so we don't have to stop what we are going to run to the store to pick up supplies or order them because we didn't know what was needed? Thank you.
@tessayodersmith847 Жыл бұрын
Hi Tammie! Thank you so much for reaching out. Unfortunately there isn’t a written copy of the pattern, it’s only the videos. If you click on the video description, it’s a little more written out. Some of the rows have the amount of stitches labeled, but unfortunately not all. And because this video series was something I did over Covid, I honestly don’t even remember off the top of my head, I’d have to watch my own videos to remember lol. I can help you with the supplies though! They are all listed in the description of the first video of the series, “01 kitty couch tutorials | minimal sewing crochet (series teaser)

@@tessayodersmith847 I have another question...LOL. On this piece, can you tell me how long in inches it should be? I started over using the same size hook as you so it should be fairly close. I always have trouble figuring the row #'s ... I put a stitch marker but I don't remember what row I did that on ... I even wrote out all the rows and thought I was marking them off as I went but, I think I missed a few/bunch ... LOL Amateurs...yep, that's me. Thanks again.

I don't suppose anyone knows dimension in inches? I'm trying to modify this into a sewing pattern because I need to make 2 and just don't have time to crochet these.

This looks so cute! I can't wait to get started. I saw that you used a size G hook and medium worsted weight yarn. My question is about how much yarn did you use? I am trying to decide if I have enough on hand or if I need to purchase some. Thanks!

That is so exciting! I have just started on couch number three so I am right there with you in the journey:) I used a little less than 2 skeins of Caron’s one pound yarn. Each skein is about 740 meters of yarn, so you’ll need a little less than 1480 meters for the main color.

Why are the starting chains for the base and back different yet appear to be same length when all put together

Reading is fundamental....I paid attention, really I did. TY for your hard work
@tessayodersmith8474 жыл бұрын
It’s all good! I’m sure others may have a similar question:) for the base, I worked the small edge across (fewer chains but more rows). For the back rest I worked the long edge up (more chains, but fewer rows. In the end, the chain side of the back matched up with the amount of rows I made for the base:)

I keep getting 41 sitches instead of 40 when I get to row 4 i have strated over and over and it happens when i reach the end and I only do the SC and the HDC. I tried to keep going but little by little it starts slanting to one side instead of going straight up. How do I fix this?
@tessayodersmith8474 жыл бұрын
I would recommend doing only a sc at either the beginning or the end instead of sc and hc for both...this will get you back on track to 40 stitches:)

I have a question. At the end of row 2 is the last stitch in the chain one? I have counted and recounted and I have 40 stitches, but the edge seems to have an extra stitch. It looks like it's getting wider after a couple more rows, but I still have 40. Any suggestions or ideas what I could be doing wrong? For the record, I like your tutorial better than Crochet Crowd's. It easier to follow :)
@tessayodersmith8473 жыл бұрын
Hi there! I typically don’t crochet in the “chain 1” stitch because I crochet a bit loose, and if I do, my work always becomes wider as I go along. By stopping on the last full sc stitch could help the widening problem:)
@LadyroachAlot3 жыл бұрын
@@tessayodersmith847 Thanks for the reply! I was about to edit it because I figured out that's exactly what I was doing! I've moved on to other problems 😂 In the round, my slip stitches aren't lining up, but I still have 31 clusters so I'm winging it! If the seam is weird I'll just hide it.

I keep getting 95 sts at the end of row 11 instead of 93 sts. Will this be a problem or should I restart rows 9-11 again?
@tessayodersmith8473 жыл бұрын
Easy fix:) so what you’ll want to do is choose two of those single crochets in row 11 and make them decreases (crocheting one single crochet stitch over two stitches). This can literally be anywhere in the row as long as they’re spaced out on opposite sides. This will get you back to 93 stitches and then your combos will work out evenly ☺️

So after I finished row 9, I ended with 89 stitches instead of 93... does that mean I need to redo it?
@tessayodersmith8474 жыл бұрын
Haley Ray Nope! You’ll be okay:) you can leave as is and just know that your cushion will be a smidge smaller, but honestly not enough to notice. It may be a good idea to throw in an increase stitch somewhere in the next row to get you to 90, that way your clusters will be easier to manage. Good question though!
