You could do a puddle pour. I've used these colors and did more of a ribbon pour, but there was still pink in it.

Love this technique. I liked it before the hammer better but both are cool!! Better cells before hammer but better edges with it. Thanks for sharing. I really like the pouring of white to cover the canvas. Yes amazing when you are home alone and can do art!!!!! Best therapy!! I thought torching brought out cells, but you already had those. Did it add more cells or what does it do. Thanks again and subscribed!
@AnnOsborne
@AnnOsborne 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and subscribing!!! Cells will happen on their own and torching will bring them out as well. Often with the flip and drag color will go under the white and torching will make the color pop through in cells.

@AnnOsborne
@AnnOsborne 7 жыл бұрын
I love using house paint because it is more economical; I'm going through over a gallon a week! I don't think it has anything to do with more cells though. Do you use silicone? Do you get cells right at first? If so, torch a little right after you flip the cup before you tilt.
@eleanorvasil4926
@eleanorvasil4926 7 жыл бұрын
WOW Ann! A gal. a week! Yes, I use silicone. If I get cells, they don't last and are very few. Believe me, if I got a bunch of nice ones, I'd throw a "happy party". I'll try the torch as you said. Thanks for the help.

Hi Ann. I love what you did. Is there any silicone in the white? Any type of house paint you would avoid? I like a glossy finish. Does the "flat" "satin", "eggshell", "gloss" finish make a difference when going for cells? Will definitely try this new way to pour. Genius! Thanks so much for sharing your work. It's so beautiful. Subscribed!

Ann Osborne Wow! Quick reply. Super helpful. Thanks. You gave me the courage/inspiration to try the technique. I did it with glossy-finish craft paints so we'll see how it all works out when dry. You make the difficult look easy. My dragging turned out to be more of a "flip cup on a whole bunch of white paint", but I hope to improve as I love your work. Your videos are great. Thanks for sharing.

I'm my goodness, I have watched and watched almost every video of yours over and over but must of missed this one. It's beautiful. I was wondering if you could give me some advice though.? I seem to have trouble with the negative background paints. They don't seem to flow nicely and when I tilt there are places that are not covering properly. My paint is the right consistency but maybe not enough pain I don't know ☹️
@AnnOsborne
@AnnOsborne 7 жыл бұрын
+Margie Oliver have you tried adding more paint? If your colors are a different consistency from the white it is difficult to get them to tilt correctly.

I have a question that I hope hasn't been asked and answered I'm new to your channel. What kind of bars are those across your large drip pans? I'm battling trying to figure out how to work larger canvases! Beautiful work, you're very talented, I can't wait to look at more of your work.

Question: they say complementary colors become muddy. Yours don´t. - Love your vids!

It depends on amounts of each color used and how much they get mixed. Thanks for watching!

7:50 if you look from here.. it looks like a mermaid right away, with her face turn towards us that 1 wide red eye.. you can even see her shoulder and tail~.. beautiful THIS IS THE COOLEST 1 i seen so far.. many people have devils and demon faces you must have a nice clean life & think of nice things ..like fish do you like fish ? I almost don't want this to move when they move too much the nice image disappears ! That cell that you really liked and pointed out is at her hip ! This would look beautiful above my nieces fireplace she painted it dark blue and has not found anything to fit there yet :) I love this might make it someday soon OMG your gonna tilt loved it like this 10:29!!! it's still a mermaid ! When you turn it it looks like a cartoon peacock type bird 19:00 doesn't look like much but maybe a skinny dragon so which way did you end up with you never turned it back to original wide angle

I liked it better before you hammered it.. but nice anyway! Can you give your secret floetrol/water/paint ratio please?
@AnnOsborne
@AnnOsborne 7 жыл бұрын
+pesto12601 for the white it is about 50% paint and 25/25 floetrol and water. I honestly have no idea with the other colors.

I have to heavy of a hand to make this work, but I'm tenacious, after all it only took me 99 pours to get cells, so I'll keep trying, till I get it right! The flip and drag....sounds like a dance! flip me over your head and drag me across the floor, I can't do that either😂
@AnnOsborne

You can try dancing while doing this---I'm now picturing your dance partner holding a canvas while you pour!

For me, compositionally is not resolved. Looks too much like a W. The right lower edge could have used a medium large shape to balance out the large one on the left upper edge.
