Unfortunately completing this game requires mass amounts of luck as the game DOES cheat. They land critical hits way more often and you miss more often. You also dont get critical hits as often.

Actually, I'm not sure about critical hits and missing, though it totally does seem like it, but the game still cheats. I read a forum post where someone had used gameshark codes to replace all 4 of the opponents moves with Splash and occasionally they would use a fifth move.

The 3rd battle is so dumb, his houndoom hung on with focus band 3 turns in a row and I lost because of it

Tried this, although i used Muk instead of Poliwrath and got similar success along the way. The final challenge was still too hard. Tyranitar completely screws you over, and one hit from Machamp's earthquake does too. Plus his Kingdra crit with surf against Kadabra. I lost all of my continues :(

Dragonite is just about as bad, that thing is a piece of work. I had a Machamp with Rock Slide, and it was pure dumb luck I finally scraped a win, it hurt itself with confusion from Outrage after I wore it down to three hp, I was a goner otherwise, and that was my last Pokemon, thankfully the last Pokemon after had well over half it's HP gone and paralyzed, an earthquake took it down. I wouldn't have won otherwise.

If anyone is still having trouble, I beat this with Fearow, Kadabra, Hitmonlee, Graveler, Vaporeon and Murkrow. Murkrow was to wall Giraffarig and Mr. Mime and haze away boosts but never came into play. Wobbafett would be better to bait ttar as you switch to Hitmonlee, then Wobba is good vs the last team.
