I was in the Carolinas Outbreak of March 28 1984 . I lost 59 neighbors that evening . The Red Springs tornado approached F5 intensity and reached a width of 2.5 miles across . Ive never seen lightning as bright as that night had . The tornado roar was heard about twelve miles east of its path . There were people pulled out of treetops and roads were scoured away by the winds . A cow was hanging 50 feet up in a tree just east of Greenville NC . Every business in Red Springs was damaged or destroyed . It was the darkest night ive ever seen following the supercell passage out of my area .

Unfortunately at that point in the video, it was wrapped in rain and didn’t really show a visible funnel touching down. So unless you know tornadoes, a lot of people won’t know they’re driving right into it. Yeah, the guy recording it caught the motion of the vortex, but again, unless you know what you’re seeing, you’ll be none the wiser that you’re heading towards disaster and not just a heavy downpour. In these situations, that’s how a lot of people get hurt or die. They just don’t know it’s there in all that rain.

Many, many deaths towards the communities on the south end of Indian Lake from this tornado, which got even bigger as it headed southeast. Prayers for all effected. One of the worst 1 day tornado outbreaks of the decade. A slew of tornadoes stretching from Ohio to Texas. Massive night of storms.

3 people confirmed dead from tornado at Indian Lake. A 4th person died from natural causes. One death is one too many but 3 from a tornado isn’t “many, many deaths”.

Like they mentioned on the news tonight back during the memorial day tornadoes we didn't really see the magnitude of damage until the following morning as you folks know was not pretty there was so much property damage but 15 tornadoes and one casualty that's a miracle people listened to the warnings hopefully we have a similar situation

Don't panic. Get in hallway with a mattress. I know several people that survived multiple f5 in Moore that way. One of my friends did twice. I talked to a guy when I lived there did it 3 times

I’m a pilot, and flew over the top of these storms that day at 43,000ft and the storms were still building as we were going through the top of the clouds. These were some violent storms. I’ve never seen anything like this.

Live 30 miles North of the lake , weather man on Lima station was reporting on it but you could tell he knew it was huge the sound of his voice had an urgency he couldn't cover up , on radar it look3d huge .Seen a few pics afterward not good pontoon boat in a farmers field hardware store flattened. Logan County was reporting mass casualties , fires, gas leaks , car accidents . Terrifing to watch and see , I can't imagine what the residents have been through , but we will support them . State of emergency was called finally . May God have mercy on them .

I had a feeling this was coming. I live in the Inland Northwest in WA... we've had the driest and warmest winter since 2013 if not worse... and that was the last time America had an ef5 (el reno)... I have a feeling we're in for quite a few big and nasty ones this year! I pray for anyone in the paths! My prayers to anyone affected by a tornado

It came through Delaware Ohio .. took out a bunch of the neighborhood. I just spend 3 hours helping cut trees out to open a road It brought down the high voltage metal towers.. lines are down all over the place

@@StrappingYoungLadam We had an outbreak at the beginning of March around 5.30am in the morning. The 1st one hit around the airbase in Dayton with minor damage. Then 2 tornadoes struck Springfield where I live & one that struck our area had winds over 130mph. It was over 500 yards wide & stayed on the ground for over 25 miles . It demolished a lot of areas & left a lot of devastation. It was just upgraded from an Ef-2 to an Ef-3 . Then 6 more tornadoes were reported in & around the Columbus area.

About an hour and a half or so ago:I saw a blanket of cloud with what looked like two small formations (my husband said they were trees) but what I saw was coming from cloud coverage in the sky ,not trees from the ground.

This happens thru the whole month of March with tornado devastation. The summer is nothing but 90 degree high humidity summers that produces more of these vicious lightening strikes and tornado attacks. It is hell to live here and like living in a war zone. This state is extremely dangerous!!

We had baseball size hail in my town yesterday evening in Oklahoma. The damage will be in the hundreds of millions. We sat on our porch as we heard it coming in. I will never forget the sound it made.

The lightning from this storm was nonstop, was driving home from Columbus to Kenton, and just as we hit Marysville, my wife called and told us about the tornados. Literally missed it by minutes.

The faint sound of the siren and the pitch-black sky at the beginning with the huge funnel cloud is absolutely terrifying.

I was at work in Marengo when the outbreak happened, i was on my lunch break . I definitively heard the hail here and there coming down heavy. But the fact that the most damaged area in western ohio is only an hr and 30 minutes from my town.

I was a member of Madison County Emergency management from 1968-1998...We had some major Tornado's in that time slot, but this one appeared "bad"...Be safe...Pray you don't have any more during the month of April and May...Now, I live in the West...We have a lot of high winds, but due to the location, we don't have Tornado's like the Mid-West...
