The morning after a large tornado tracked across Mississippi; the daylight painted a bad picture. The town of Amory took a direct hit. Businesses throughout the town had damage. Poles and lines laid across the roadway on the way in to town. Numerous trees came crashing down on houses and on the roadway. Amory High School had damage as well as extensive damage to their sports complex. Metal beam work that held sponsors and lights at the complex was seen twisted and mangled over to the ground as well. The Amory National Guard also took a hit. Roofs of residents came off as well in downtown. Emergency vehicles were steadily running code throughout the day. Multiple law enforcement and first responders from other areas of the state came to assist any way they could.

The amount of destruction that happened so quickly is terrifying. I can't imagine going through what these folks have. Tornadoes are disturbing and violent as-is; to have one happen in the pitch black night while rain wrapped is unfathomable. I wish the survivors a speedy recovery.

Having been in one like this (late at night, rain wrapped) and never being able to see it makes it hard to process long term. Its like you've been assaulted by someone but never got to see their face.

When you are looking at the destruction and can't even make out what it was before it was destroyed , that's bad.

I’ve been seeing EF-4 level damage out of Silver City and Amory, but Rolling Fork was definitely at EF-5 level. I haven’t seen complete destruction like that since Joplin. Ground scouring and granulated debris can only be had with wind speeds well over 200mph.
@PetethePorpoise
@PetethePorpoise Жыл бұрын
But it will be rated a very very very high end EF4 tornado with wind speeds of 199.999999 mph because there was one washer missing from one anchor bolt in the northwest corner of the house so even though trees were debarked and denuded and the ground was scoured down to mud and asphalt and concrete was ripped from the earth and a water tower was shredded and pancaked *takes deep breath*, obviously only 199.999999 mph winds could have done this and not 200.000001 mph winds because there was one washer missing from one anchor bolt in the northwest corner of the house. -- Sincerely, NWS Engineering Damage Survey Team

@@PetethePorpoise That's pretty funny, Pete. A good friend of mine died in that storm. He just retired. Moved there from out west. Do you feel better now?

@@KB-ke3fi Nothing I said made fun of your friend or anyone else affected by these storms. I am satirizing the lengths the NWS seems to go to these past several years to avoid accurately classifying tornadoes as EF5 even when the evidence is abundant. Moreover, if they DID classify these storms accurately, the insurance payouts received by affected families would possibly be higher and more helpful after the fact for rebuilding. I am very sorry to hear of your loss. A friend of mine died in the 2020 Cookeville TN EF4 tornado and I do still miss them.

So very sorry for this community. I was watching Ryan Hall and Andy Hill on KZbin the entire evening and was praying that this (and other towns) made it through. Mother Nature reminds us how fragile things are once and a while. May God Bless those who are recovering, and may the victims RIP.

Amory isn’t near as bad as it looked like it would be on radar last night when it went through amory it looked stronger than it did in rolling fork
@The_Joshuan_Empire
@The_Joshuan_Empire Жыл бұрын
I mean DEFINITELY still EF3+ maybe EF4 Damage, but it's not a situation damage wise like Rolling Fork is, because rolling Fork for sure is garenteed to be EF4 at the lowest because there are houses with no walls standing, hell even a BRICK house no walls standing.

Living in southern Arizona, I saw this system come through my area producing unseasonably cool temperatures, especially during the early morning hours. Coupled with that were frequent intermittent periods of precipitation amounts that aren't common for us this time of year. For each time this pattern repeats itself, it tells me that once it reaches the nation's mid section and southern states, it's going to create big-time severe weather events, particularly violent tornado outbreaks. And folks, it's not over yet! Another weather pattern, similar to the ones that have brought unusual amounts of rain and flooding to California and the desert southwest, is making its way into California and Arizona. I hate to say it, but we could possibly see a repeat of this tornadic devastation next week. And especially so now that we have officially entered "tornado season."

Interesting to know! Unfortunately, it’s common to see severe weather in the spring here in the south every 1 or 2 weeks during the spring. Maybe more in some areas. It’s just a matter of where. 🙁

Rewatching the Dec 10th Mayfield Kentucky event, the impact nd damage looked very similar. I doubt we'll see an EF5 rating for any of it. Mayfield looked similarly wiped. Terrible event. Amory's radar signature looked the scariest I've ever seen.

I can only imagine the difference it would make if these multi million dollar mega churches filled with hundreds and thousands of "professing christians" did something to help people and disaster relief. The preacher Kenneth Copeland should sell his mansion and private airplane to help some of these people.

👆🏾👆🏾👆🏾 Ever notice tornadoes and hurricanes almost never touch the hood… Amerikkkaren and Euro Gentile countries must repent for her crimes against our nation. TTrains tipping over spewing poison; animals dropping dead; whales washing ashore; locust and mice taking over Australia after the fires burnt it up; etc, etc, etc…

God doesn’t play games. He judges his own children first and foremost, and like you’ve pointed out, it seems that the Bible Belt is not obeying him very well and is incurring his wrath more and more. Judgement begins with the people of God. Now clearly I am generalizing and many people that don’t know Jesus were affected… but still it makes a person wonder…..
