Torsion key lifts ride horrible and bottom out the upper control arms. You'd be much better off with a 3" body lift, if all you care about is fitting larger tires on. This will leave your suspension much more off road capable as it will have more down travel in the front. Aftermarket torsion keys are no different than just cranking up the factory ones, it still requires the same torsion forces to lift, and will still result in bottomed out bumpstop.

@n_giantyeti7 жыл бұрын
*Spring spacers
@crosswayfilms6547 жыл бұрын
Yes, the rear spacers were easy. The difficult thing was the front torsion keys because I did it without a compression tool. I just used a bottle jack and a bolt and jacked up on them using the weight of the vehicle and I still had to jump on the hitch and rock the truck around and still just barely got the keys up high enough to get the pins out. The vehicle was seesawing on the jack and one wheel. lol...

How far fast your fenders do your wheels stick out with a -24 offset?
@franker11112 жыл бұрын

@marioburton82985 жыл бұрын
Hey very nice truck has a question how did you fit the spacer on the rear coil I tried but after removing lower shock bolt and unbolting the two sway bar bolts the rear end was maxed when lowered with the Jack got new spring in but not enough room to get 2 inch spacer in
@Brian-fp3mh Жыл бұрын
so how bad is the acceleration now with larger tires? These arent fast to begin with (I have 03 Z71) so bigger tires probably kill mpg and performance
@RYTHMICRIOT5 жыл бұрын
I also have an 03 Tahoe. I went with 20x12 wheels that have a 42mm offset and 305mm wide tires. They stick out roughly 3 inches beyond the fenders and I'm not even using spacers. Because of this the radial travel of the front steering is much more severe therefore I had to cut a lot more than what was shown here. My tires were beginning to wear a groove into the windshield washer reservoir. Eventually it would have worn a hole into it rendering it useless so I removed it with the idea that I'd relocate it and reroute the plumbing and wiring. Unfortunately, once I removed it, I realized it's the most awkward shape imaginable, extremely long and virtually impossible to install elsewhere. I began shopping a universal reservoir solution before asking myself "Who really needs a windshield washer reservoir anyway?"
@teedubya57723 жыл бұрын
I hope you also changed your gearing to a lower gear ratio because if that has the 3:42 years like my 2005, it will be a dog with those bigger tires

Victor M Carrillo Jr i do get a clank noise when i hit a bump at higher speeds. I havent got taller shocks for the back yet either, so it might be that. Ive got about a 1inch difference from front to back with the front being higher. It aligned great but my main concern is premature wear. Ive got about 1000 miles on it so far all is good.

Rewatched your video, and saw you run the wheel spacers, what's the difference if you were to have gotten a more negative offset wheel?
@crosswayfilms6547 жыл бұрын
If you don`t already have wheel spacers getting a more negative offset wheel is the better way to do it unless you want the spokes to be more visible (closer to the outer rim). Personally I don`t like the look of the deep dish wheels, but it just depends on what look you want.
@n_giantyeti7 жыл бұрын
+Level7 Construction oh ok, so just preference really, to match yours, do you possibly know what offset wheels would give you about the same?
