Totally trust Doty to be the only reviewer who covers all the oscillator types... And of course he even goes through every wavetable....

Those waves were brutal for the first two thirds of the video. Thanks for showing the possibilities with those sounds and not just it’s capability.

Really enjoying these reviews. I've had a Microfreak for a few weeks & it's an astonishingly versatile & deep synth, so much going on with it. I mainly use Moog & Analogue Solutions synths but this little digital beast does not disappoint.

Man, you really made this thing come alive. I want to get as much out of my Microfreak as I possibly can. Your videos are so much help. Thanks a lot.. One thing. Did you make a vid about the step sequencer..? Can't seem to get my head around it...

People are talking about it's organ like tone and even comparing some sounds well in some cases a lot of sounds to the farfisa organ you should really check this video out especially when he turns the pedals on I think you'll see what I mean I think there's some coding there. Arturia Farfisa V Tutorial. Well........🤔

Great review as always. But sadly I think this thing sounds.... well.... bad. Like it’s the illegitimate child of the Korg poly-800
@bembeleee5 жыл бұрын
people in the synth world and reviewers think differently and to me it's sounds great as welll. Actually most of the people like it It's a sytnh with many faces and sound possibilities. If a person is saying it's sound's bad it only means you don't have the potential to do something with it and use the potential which is mycrofreak offering you😉

I finally had a chance to try one out. It can sound rather like a cheap toy if you don't get the osc settings dialed in, worse than any of my analogs when they aren't dialed in. However, it is capable of some really nice sounds. The Modal osc sounded especially good, especially when you increase the inharmonicity, but unfortunately Karplus-Strong was disappointing, and could not come close to what Plaits or even 2hp Pluck can do. If Arturia had stuck with what was in Plaits instead, I probably would have bought one. Even if I only use half the oscs, the sequencer, filter, and mod matrix make it worth it. But not with K-S sounding the way it does.

EXTREMELY BORING PRESENTATION!!!!!!
@automaticgainsay5 жыл бұрын
I’m sorry but comments like that are only allowed if you support them effectively with objective observations, expertise, and a distinct lack of douchebaggery. I’m sorry, Frank. Also, it’s widely held that any more than three exclamation points is stupid. Three equals the loudest you can petulantly yell something. Let’s do an experiment. Okay, yell something pathetic like you do, and yell it as loud as you possibly can. Now yell it again, but louder than you possibly can. You failed, didn’t you. Yeah, see? That was just four exclamation points, and you couldn’t do it. Now do you see how moronic six is? I hope this helps.
