Removing the center console is useful for several reasons.
1. Clean the center console.
2. Clean in between the seats where it is impossible to get to.
3. Repair or replace any broken switches or wire harness
4. Replace the 194 bulb for the gear selector
5. Replace all the bulbs with LED

the piece under the center consul is the airbag sensor. do not break it or play with it, it will cost $600

I have a base model 07, i pulled the center console out and there looks to be a connector underneath the center console that has 6 wires leading to it, it is a male connector, but no female connector anywhere around for it to connect to, the approximate location is underneath the cupholders on the chassis. Any idea as to what this goes to?

My gear shift cable broke. I see you can buy the plastic bushing on ebay, but do you have to take out the cable? How do you do that?

Go to a junk yard, find a grand prix with the rear cup holder and take the entire rear plate(the rear plates are different between the models with and without)

Thank you VERY much for this video! I need to replace my TC button on my GT1 (it doesn't turn off the ETC)... and I want to upgrade it to support heads up display; just to clarify though, the sub-harness the HUD controller plugs into is that same one that unplugged at the front of the console, right? This might help out others who do the HUD add-on who find the projector's plug but not the controller's...

dishgirl4 From what I gather, all 04+ Grand Prixs come with the harness already installed, they just omitted the control dial and the actual HUD. To be sure, when you get the harness that goes under the center console just make sure it has a total of 4 connectors. I also can not verify that in fact the HUD harness is pre installed, but I do believe that it is.

Another problem I ran into the other day was my washer fluid nozzle. I live in upstate NY and our winters suck! The other day I went to use my washer fluid and nothing was coming out. I figured it was empty so I went and filled it up. Even after filling it up nothing would come out. I tried looking for the nozzle but gave up because it was too cold. Today was a little warmer and when I tried using the fluid it worked. I also noticed the nozzle is hidden in the wiper arm. Does yours get clogged alot in the winter? Also the way the ice builds up on the blades forces my blades to not move unless I scrap it off. Any other car I've owned never really did that. Sometimes I'd use thee de-icing fluid to help melt my windsheild. It seems like that's not gonna be possible with this car. Is it just a bad design or could my wiper motor be weak.

+Bryan Gravlin Mine does get clogged. I find that if I clear off the windshield and then let the wipers sit for about 5 minutes after the car is warmed up the defroster will melt whatever is on the wipers and clear it up.

That rusty metal portion at 11:39, on my console, the bottom of the console is apparenlty clipped into that, did you have that on the bottom section of yours right below the bucket? I can't get mine to lift upand out no matter how hard i try.

+robsp32 Really weird, I have never had that issue before. Sounds like someone had it out before and jammed the metal clips in too hard.

Doesn't stop there. It's an 08 and I've rebuilt the transmission at 73k and replaced the ignition control module. The battery went after one year once and lots of other small things like blinkers and shit. This car is cursed, which is why I named her The Black Pearl. No wonder Pontiac went under

Con Artist Nice car for sure but does it come with it's own transmission dipstick? I hear alot of Dodge models don't come from the factory with a tranny dipstick because they say "you don't have to check the tranny for 100k miles"....That's crazy...
