I love Supertramp period, but this has always been my favorite album of theirs- a masterpiece in league with early Genesis, King Crimson, The Moody Blues, and Camel and the haunting melody and tragic lyric of this song really is moving and beautiful. I've been through tough times emotionally lately as have we all- none of you are alone. Love often has to go wrong before we realize it's better to love than hate and accept who we are as humans and entities. Gorgeous tune, but very, very sad.

So I love this song and have since the early 70's. I am humble as I have lost one of my younger brothers. Although he is with Jesus most definitely now, I will miss him, the fun we had, his gentle and most handsome smile. I am just sad but also I am okay and dealing with it, you know? I think, no, I know that I will miss him for the rest of my days. It still seems so unreal that he is gone and that I will never see his beautiful smile again. God, this life sometimes...Most times lately.

X & Y is a solid album and this is one of the highlights 😀.... 👍 Lowdown - Boz Scaggs ... Love this, probably his finest song for me 👍👍 Too Low for Zero - Elton John... A great title track from my 6th favourite album 👍👍 Hunting High and Low - A-ha... This is definitely a good one, a long way away from Take on Me, but still very solid 👍 👏. I've got 4 Lows for you... @@keithjones7390 Evening Keith. Well I had High Hopes for these.... And you've definitely not disappointed.... Too High - Stevie Wonder... An unusual composition from this talented writer and musician but so different from his more known songs. Not one of his best but well worth a 👍 Ten Feet High - Andrea Corr... This was an interesting listen, again not spectacular but like S. Vega, Dido, K. Carpenter, K. Bush, etc you cannot go wrong with A. Corr's vocal. The song was a little mediocre but still deserves a 👍 High Hopes - Pink Floyd.... Thank you for putting this one forward, I didn't really know it by name but I've heard it several times when I've been to see Think Floyd (tribute) and though it's a far cry from DSOTM, WYWH and Animals it's definitely got something about it so it's another 👍 Congratulations on this interesting set 👏👏

And I sent a reply on the remainder of your A - E which probably didn't make it.... So I'll try again. Duke's End was alright, I felt like I was hearing Turn it On on speed... 🤔😀. Definitely a good way to end an album (if it does?)... U2 - Better than the Real Thing... This started well and was flowing nicely. I quite like it but I was hoping for an injection of something, maybe an edgy 😀 guitar solo towards the end, just a tempo change. The mammoth Duke's Travels.. I was so looking forward to this but after a few attempts it's not hitting the spot for me... I found the first 2 minutes like a Tony Banks keyboard play that would be fantastic to hear and see at a concert but wasn't inspiring as a studio introduction... There were some lovely keyboard pieces throughout and I could hear little snippets of Selling England and The Lamb which was great and couple of moments that reminds you of Trick of a Tail and Wind & Wuthering but overall it was nothing more than okay. I was hoping for a memorable journey but it didn't travel as well as I hoped.... Glad we're up and running again... 👍

A slightly more uptempo set. Fields of Fire - Big Country Good Times Roll - The Cars Hotel - 10cc (OK one comment, first three albums just superb, then the band started to try and be too clever in my opinion, longer more complex songs, less is more for me, just listen to those first two albums. Short witty great songs. I'm So Afraid - Fleetwood Mac, oops another comment, listened to this, my favourite song from the FM album, and then a live version on '76 Rosebud, more raw version of the song. @@keithjones7390 Sorry, I do like '80s Genesis... Just nowhere near as much... Well, I'm skipping Big Country and The Cars, I don't know these and wasn't impressed with a first listen, so I'll revisit. Hotel - 10cc... I've got to say that it's funny how your tastes change... If I'd not been a fan already, I'd have said that it was just a fun track and that's about it... I'm a big fan of everything they did up to Deceptive Bends, so this was a joyous trip down memory lane 👍 I'm so Afraid - Fleetwood Mac... An absolute corker! Almost a prog rock song 🤔... Dynamite 👍👍 Jungle - ELO... I don't know... I really like the intro and it does maintain that ELO signature sound, bit it's that chanty, anthemic song that can and often does irritate. We Will Rock You and Born in the USA are prime examples for me. It's still okay and yet again another fun one. These last 3 are well suited, just a shame that due to alphabetical ordering F/Mac couldn't end this set... My K - N Keep on Loving You - REO Let it Be - The Beatles My Love - Wings Nights in White Satin - Moody Blues... Continuing the Ballads Hope you like them 👍

Good news with Hotel though, like l said those first three albums for me were the very best from the band, and in particular debut and Sheet Music, songs that l still love to this day. One from debut album which I have always liked the most is Speed Kills. I'm So Afraid too! I'm on a roll! Anything from.that album though is bound to be a hit. Anyway hope you like these next tunes K to O..... King of Trees - Cat Stevens Lies - Camel (an almost bluesy number from Nude, great guitar work on this one!) Motherless Children - Eric Clapton ( probably my favourite track from 461 Ocean Boulevard) Going for double N here, have a feeling first N is one l sent not long ago maybe in body parts theme. Never Going Back Again - Fleetwood Mac (listening to song on my phone, l noted a slightly different version to that on my album, song l listened to on my phone l think is a remastered 2004 example. See what you think, I'd choose the original every time) Nothing Left Toulouse - Sad Cafe Out and In - Moody Blues So there we are, l know all of your new set but will listen again and get back to you soon.K

Hooverville - The Cristians... This is a good opener, I think, an enjoyable start leading us into Amsterdam - Coldplay.. this is more of the laid back Coldplay I'm not sure if I like it or not 🤔. I feel that if someone had just discovered Let it Be in the 21st century and rewrote the music, this might be what it would sound like 🤔.. Katmandu - Cat Stevens.. this follows nicely after Coldplay and is a lovely tune. Feltham... - Hard - Fi.. I found this one a bit too busy but the last 1 minute and 15 seconds, it does get more interesting and easier to follow, a strange one. London Calling - The Clash... A punk rockish finish. Never sure if they were punk or not. 🤔. I never really cared for this, back in the day, but it's got a new lease of life now. Overall.. a hit, nice one, Keith... 👍 So... following on from my A to J, (many moons ago) K to U now as no Q.... Kentucky Woman - Deep Purple London Boys - T. Rex All the way from Memphis - Mott the Hoople New England - Kirsty McColl Oslo - Picture This (this was literally a stumbler. I've not heard of the band, but felt that I'd heard a song with Oslo in it, I typed it in the KZbin search and up popped Picture This (wonder if they are fans of Blondie 🤔) ------------ Philadelphia Freedom - E. John Q has gone quiet... Rhinestone Cowboy - Glenn Campbell If you're Going to San Francisco - Scott McKenzie Woman from Tokyo - Deep Purple 😀... Utah - The Osmonds (you probably won't care for this one, but it was on an Osmond's collection album I had long, long ago... All done 👍

@@denphillips3402 Hi, hope you're well. I've had a listen to your last set, l know a few of them of course, All the Way From Memphis, Philladelphia Freedom and Rhinestone Cowboy. Deep Purple start the set in fine style, l definitely like their early stuff more. It has a more melodic bluesy feel to me. T Rex with London Boys, it's funny because I'd found this title a couple of days ago, don't know the song, but can't seem to find it anywhere, which album is it on? All the Way From Memphis, good rousing stuff! I like their style of music, not to be taken too seriously, but accomplished nevertheless. A New England is a nice uptempo number, not familiar with any of her music, but quite liked this one. One l do really like is Oslo by Picture This, on first listening l wasn't that impressed, but felt that there was something there. Played it 5 times now, and it has really grown in me, partly ( to me anyway) they sound like Snow Patrol, in particular from 1.11 to 1.45 in the song. Philadelphia Freedom, great choice! Rhinestone Cowboy, it's OK, but that's it. Woman From Tokyo, is this an extended version? I feel it has some gentler sections that l like more than the 'rockier' bits. The intro reminds me a bit of Rocky Mountain Way by Joe Walsh. Utah by The Osmonds, not bad at all, there you go! Mind you maybe l was comparing it to Crazy Horses, you know, the worst song in the world 😏 Anyway take care, Tara for now.K.

@@keithjones6023 Nice.. I've always had a soft spot for Two of Us. The opening track 'Easy Does It' has something about it, but I'm torn between Sister Moonshine & Lady as my joint favourites.... I agree, it's not quite Crime, but it is a very creditable follow up 👍

@@denphillips3402 Sister Moonshine and Lady as joint favourites. It's a bit like me with Crime, School and Rudy are my favourite two on that one.

I heard this song years ago and I was so happy but I got me some Jesus Christ everyday and everything changed I was a fool but decided not to dislike My life but to follow Jesus Christ and not the music but enjoy all the things God the father has given if I believe using his word everyday and growing with the talent he gives me in Christ in spite of my mistakes of the love of all and not being able to make music like this for I am a musician and Love It but serving Christ is more important to me and I want you to share in this experience if you give it a chance

What year did this come out? 1971? This sounds very different from their future albums, not too thrilled. Their first big hit came from Crime of the Century, a great album from 1974.

I cannot believe that after loving both bands for over 35+ years, I have only now made this comparison!! Alter the snare sound to that flat, deafened "crak", and could this not be very early King Crimson??? And Palmer-James being sufficiently a member of both bands!? Hmmmm??...... Am I crazy?

[Verse 1] Why sing a lonely song? The whole world knows that love goes wrong Why bruise a heart that isn't broken? It isn't broken, it can be broken [Verse 2] Life's just a show for free Come along and watch with me The only sins are words unspoken Words unspoken, never spoken [Verse 3] Sweet things come and go Give me shame, I'll give you woe To live for love isn't so easy It isn't easy, it won't be easy [Verse 4] How all good men try Look around and wonder why Can they shape this world to please me? Can they please me, should they please me? [Chorus] And follow, and maybe you'll correct me I wish you'd never met me For I am no gentle man Follow and while you watch and wonder I pull the world asunder And show you who I am [Verse 5] Send me a gentle dream Of love so strange it's never seen And prove how such a love can happen It can happen, make it happen [Verse 6] Fine things don't abound Fade away without a sound But hope must never end or slacken Never slacken, never slacken [Chorus] And follow and maybe you'll correct me I wish you'd never met me I am no gentle man Follow and while you watch and wonder I'll pull the world asunder And show you who I am

I'm going to try and remember this album the next time I reply to a list of dynamic debut albums.... I'll add this to Camel, ELP, Christopher Cross, Suzanne Vega, Autumn, I'm sure that there are others... 🤔....

Hi Den it's your old friend who likes the same music as you ( well most of the time) I'll have a proper look at your second Genesis list later, and see if l can make any improvements again 😉. Tara for now, as they say here in Wales.

@@denphillips3402 Hi I've been studying your second set of Genesis songs 🎵 I'm completely in agreement with your first three tracks, you've picked the two tracks from Wind and Wuthering that are my least favourite! For me it has got to be-Blood on the Rooftops without a shadow..... its one of my favourite Genesis songs ever, in fact l loved the album from the very start, and like it even more than Trick! It has a more proggy feel to me. The other track which I'd include is The Lamia, it doesn't get any better than this! It's definitely in my top 5 Genesis songs. It's funny, when we speak of an artist or band ,l have the urge to dig out one of their albums, played Foxtrot in the car this morning, Get 'Em Out by Friday, a classic! Anyway, there you go, another couple of minor tweaks, and another perfect list, 🥰 well I think so 🤔 Bye again. K.

@@keithjones7390 Okay, I've kept you in suspense long enough... I've got one more, then I'll give you a chance to make up an album or two.... So, Led Zeppelin with the album 'Unleaded'.... Side 1 Tangerine (Led Zep 3) The Rain Song (Houses of the Holy) Since I've been Loving You (Led Zep 3) Ten Years Gone (Physical Graffiti) Thank You (Led Zep 2) Hope you approve, side 2 isn't far away... 👍

@@keithjones7390 Okay, so side 2 of Led Zeppelin - Unleaded... Going to California (L. Zep 4) Battle of Evermore (L. Zep 4) Down by the Seaside (Physical Graffiti) No Quarter (Houses of the Holy) Stairway to Heaven (Led Zep 4) There's an album of the LZ softer side, apart from that phenomenal ending to Stairway, which is why it sits last. Hope you like it. Cheers, Keith 👍
