"the worms can't jump through the air" haha! Loads of great tips for starting a worm bin. I've watched a lot of videos that suggested not adding onions to the bin but, this was the first to tell me that onions change the pH quickly. Thanks for the great tips.

What comes out of the bottom is leachate..can have bacteria and is not necessarily worm tea which is made from well made worm castings water and preferably an air stone for at least several hours.

I live in Nevada. The winter temperatures can sink to 30*F and can soar to over 100*F in the summer. I have a lovely shaded patio, and a comfy garage which temper the outside temperatures from 5-10 degrees. Will my worms die?
