Only really noticed the song during the fight around the 2:05 - 2:29 notes since they could actually be heard in between all the skills. Realized I probably missed a lot of the song when I heard those notes but they really hammered down that it was a final battle

Best 7.8/10 game I ever played. Loved the music Loved the gameplay Loved most of the lore Loved most of the bosses Just needs to work on stepping out of Ender Lilies shadow and improving the endgame, but I have no doubt that *when* they make their third Ender game, it will be fantastic!

Upper stratum feels empty compared to the rest of the game, yet I enjoyed the final boss ( at least with Lilia ring on ) challenging enough

@@iamzero0007 The actual gameplay was fine, it was just an extremely lame climax. I love the trope of "main theme plays during the final boss", but Gilroy didn't feel like he earned it. He was fine (if a bit cheap) to fight, but the story really fell flat once you hit central stratum. Like Lillies was built around a few core themes, every part of the game related to them, and the final boss encapsulated all of them wonderfully (self sacrifice, inherited burdens, redemption) - I could not tell you a single core theme of Magnolia, and I read everything. Somehow the literal faceless blight managed to be a more interesting villain than an actual character lol. (To be clear, I really like the game - the story and finale was just a big disappointment compared to Lillies)

@@MHMega yeah you have a fair point about the story, is a bit all over the place, I liked how all the " allies " stories were connected with each other but the main antagonist felt... Mid at best I guess? I mean in lillies you know you're fighting against blight and that's your main mission. In magnolia there's fumes, and then there's blight again, and then there's this guy of the underwater fight, and then there's Cain, actually no it's Gilroy... A bit all over the place honestly...

I feel like that's a fair take! I personally enjoyed it a lot, the ring version I mean; I dislike how empty the upper stratum is, it looked so bright and pretty from far away but was dull in actual gameplay, however, I really like Gilroy's boss fight as a concept in this specific game, I really liked the twist of him actually being an antagonist because he does not want Magnolia to essentially doom herself, It makes it essentially a fight for sacrifice, I feel like the song really suits the fight too, its melancholic, sad, and more importantly deliberated, It feels like a fight for resistance, knowing perhaps this might end terribly, but choosing to not die under the wheel of homunculi draining the whole land of origin, much like how in Lilies it sounded mournful and tragic, attempting to save someone who sacrificed too much of herself for the sake of everyone. I feel like Gilroy's fight feels exactly how it should, shallow, with no strings attached, because that is what he wants, he doesn't care whatever happens, all he cares about is Magnolia not becoming the sacrifice, much how the chief attuner only cared to stop Lilia from becoming the sacrifice, the song however, tells a different story, the main theme of the game is the homunculi and humans being on the same level of value, (YES THE PLOT IS RACISM BAD, WE KNOW!!!) this is shown by the mirroring of love and care, the mistakes one may commit, and the choices one may make for the sake of it, All in all, I'd say its actually a pretty good sequel. SOME CHANGES ID REALLY LIKE, Make Magnolia's Last Rite actually viable during the bossfight, Yolvan's outshines it by a KILOMETRIC TON, and maybe add a scenic clash between her and Gilroy before the final phase begins just so it feels like she's actively taking part in the fight even if she's not your main ability. Anyway, yeah! those are my thoughts just so we can see each other's point of view

@@ryukiiko after thinking about it, I think I just need to read the lyrics of the ending song, much like bulbel explained the emotion for Lillies ending ( I'm not native English speaker and can't understand from the song alone 😭 ). Now that you mention it I think it makes sense what the fight is for, yet I still think it would have been better if Declan was at least a room before Gilroy ( given that at least 70% of the game's problems are caused by him lmao ) Btw you didn't use Nola unleashed attuner art at all? I used it to dodge the fourth phase instakill and some of the second phase sword instakill
