I like the balance of the tech talk vs breakdown of his car. I like the "this is what my car is and this is why my car is that". I personally prefer video podcasts even if it's nothing fancy. Maybe just throw up an example of the Wastegate while talking about it.

Congratulations on reaching 200K HPA team. To celebrate such a milestone, you should all get on the Steinlager's this afternoon and peer pressure Andre into finishing DOCILE in 2023. 😛

Cheers bro! Andre isn't here today, school holidays at the moment for his kids so away with them, but we'll certainly sink a few beers anyway! Hope you enjoy yours too 🍻 - Taz.

Buddy saying 6.8 doesn't sound impressive a few minutes in the video lol anything 10 or less is impressive

Haha he needs to twincharge the engine to get the boost curve he wants. Then use the boost control system to allow it to vent off the excess at launch but quickly shut the venting off right after launch to sky rocket the power.

Love how at @1:25:40 he asks a question to the interviewee , decides to answer the question himself and while talking over the actual answer he wants to give... Sometimes we need to let the guest speak.

Despite trying his best for you guys, Andre isn't perfect and doesn't claim to be 😎 Some interviews are harder than others with latency which we edit around too, and sometimes there is the odd mistake. Sorry about that 😅 - Taz.

@@hpa101 completely understand, I'm now just curious about the direction Cody was going to go with his response. The best interviews are when a question is asked and left up to the interviewee to take in the direction they choose. Could've been a hidden nugget there... Otherwise, fantastic info in this episode. Thank you

I wonder if the 2JZ has left the room as far as the backyard guy is concerned, and is now the realm of big dollar builds and billet and stuff? Now just KZbin fantasy 😉
@hpa1012 жыл бұрын
Nothing that Cody has done has come without sacrifices in other areas of life, there is more to it all than just having a fat bank account and those who were near the top end of the field 10-20 years ago weren't backyard guys either to be fair. In motorsport you have always had to pay to play, if anything you could argue historically it has gotten cheaper than ever to get involved at some level in many respects - Taz.

@@hpa101 oh, just a general comment, Was not rippin on Cody at all! Good on him for all his success. My point is, there's still a lot of guys (let's face it, the girls are clever enough) that think they'll get a cheap one on market place and run 9's in their chosen build, usually popping up in youtube comments. I got a barra greentop sitting on the engine stand, but I know it's not just, bolt on a turbo, plug in a bf computer and party lol. Still gotta paint the car it's meant to go in!
@bmxriderforlife1234 Жыл бұрын
@hpa101 facts this is why you also get into open classes and unlimited classes and figure out ways on the budget to beat the ballers. Literally in the process of paper designing a k48 set up to go into a kit car to beat actual oem hypercars and much more built full on drag supercars. Build for that is a tier above but stuck into a used blow engine or transmission older lotus with a more modest boost system and an upgraded transmission gets you silly power to weight. Widebody has been done so traction can be had. Even just a 4 banger k series twin charged would own. And a harley knucklehead modified build to beat modern litre bikes with old tech. Watercooled heads but modified versions original versions are from midget car racing engines called drakes and petruzzi. Using modern sleeve tech to get water cooled cylinders cheaply. Tweaking the bore and stroke ratios and rod ratios for more revs but keeping that low rom torque but letting ir carry higher into the rpms. Throw a centrifugal supercharger on and should be a beastly thing and still really drivable like a classic till you wanna unwind it for modern performance speeds.

Used to be a fan of the 2jz once Now i don't like it that much
@MafiaboysWorld2 жыл бұрын
So...what are you a fan of now?
@mitchellhayman3812 жыл бұрын
Why not. It a great engine. It's really tough and forgiving to mistakes you might make learning to tune it. It can rev high and take a lot of boost. Would have to be in the top 3 best engines ever. If you looked at all the engines in the world making the most power per liter of displacement, the 2jz would dominate the list.
