I can't believe my stomping grounds got hit again... where I grew up west of mineola sustained damage. I have a high school friend that lives by the interstate on HWY 19 and I messaged her saying you and the kids take cover with my cell phone number, next thing I know her daughter is calling me saying it's right behind them and they are going to someone's house that was a brick home... she sent me picture of it as they were pulling out of her driveway... my god it was huge.. thank God my family and friends are safe because I was hysterical watching it from where I live now in Louisiana

@@dmeman1 I know the feeling. I lived about five miles away from the tornado that hit Greensboro, NC in April of last year. Just knowing if the storm had tracked a little more west, my outcome could've been drastically different... Kinda scary.

Is it just me or do the tornadoes look different this year? Lots seem to be ill defined, ropes, multivortex, just barely contacting the ground but doing some pretty nasty damage. That one near the end was twisting horizontally before setting off those power flashes and ripping up whatever it was tossing into the air. Wild!

💯Yep-blacker too...like carbon was injected in the clouds. This was already a sun cycle yr & wet pattern to make it bad enough so the mad scientists really need to leave the weather alone-it didn't need any assistance...

Comrade ANTHRAX Well having a tornado in the same place every YEAR is EXTREMELY rare. However, homes should be made out of concrete and steel so they can withstand earthquakes and tornadoes as well. But, it isn’t very easy to do that as converting thousands of cities in the middle of the country to concrete buildings would cost a ton of money. That’s probably why it isn’t being done.

@@deletedaccount7954 Nobody is being cheap or stupid. The fact is that to build an equal-sized home out of concrete would cost around 5 times as much as one built normally. Most people will never be able to afford that, especially when the mortgage payment on the larger sum would be around 8 times as much. It's just not realistic to build an entire home that way, but safe rooms and shelters are much more affordable. The city of Moore OK requires them in all newly--built homes and I think that after this year other places might follow their lead.
